College was a blast for Ruby, full of freedom and new friends waiting to be met.
She missed her family deeply, but it felt great to be an adult sometimes.
Tyler, as expected, called or texted everyday to check up on her or just to get in another 'I love you'.
Jenna snap chatted her daughter silly pictures of her and Alex.
Josh tagged her in funny posts, and always asked if she had found a dude with tattoos, but the answer was always no.
By the time it was Christmas, Ruby was back home in Columbus with her family.
She went shopping for Christmas dinner with Jenna, both of them bundled up in jackets, scarves, gloves, and hats.
Ruby made time to get Presents for everyone when they weren't paying attention.
The family was all together again, they all waited for the rest of the aunts, uncles, and grandparents to drive to the house.
Soon enough the entire Joseph/black/dun family was together hanging out and eating lots of foods.
Two days till Christmas. Everyone was in on the count down.
"Ruby please help me with this stuff" Tyler burst through the door with wrapping paper of all kinds.
"Have you finished your Christmas shopping yet?" She asked her dad
"Im almost dun I just don't know what to get Alex, he hasn't asked for anything except underwear" Tyler shook his head and chuckled at his son.
"Maybe get him a piano set" Ruby suggested.
"Yeah so he can put it in his closet then take it out one day out of boredom and become a international rockstar" they laughed at the irony.
Later that night they had an ugly Christmas sweater contest.
Jay won because his sweater lit up and played the Taco Bell saga Christmas edition.
Tyler and Zack cried out of laughter because they remembered the times in their basement music such as that song was created.
"Ruby please help" Jenna yelled from the other room. Everyone needed her help today.
"Coming" Ruby helped her mom set up the guest bedrooms for everyone to sleep in.
Everyone went to sleep early only so they could wake up early to open presents.
"Alex did you put out the milk and cookies?" Ruby asked her little brother
"Yeah but it's not like Santa is coming or anything" he sighed.
"What if he does come" she whispered.
"Then I will do the dishes for an entire month" they shook on it implying it was a deal.
