Ruby found Tyler perched over the sink staring into blank space.
She didn't say anything, just walked over to stand directly next to him.
"Please leave me alone" he spoke with anger in his voice.
"Dad I know you don't want me to leave you alone, and that's why I'm here. I came to tell you I won't ever leave you alone. You never left me. You never put me back into the adoption center. You never left me home while you went on tour. You were always there for me, now it's my turn. You'll never find yourself in a retirement home. Ever" she spoke with a crack in her voice, because she was concerned for her fathers well being.
"You kids are all too grown to care about me. Your uncle Josh and I are just two old dudes that used to be on the cover of an album;)" he turned to face his daughter.
"Dad please. Forgive me if I said or did anything wrong, but I don't want you to suffer because you never let me suffer one bit, look how close they are to curing diabetes. Sure the dosage for medicine has had side effects and is a big risk, but if it's helping then why not." She spoke as if she knew exactly what she was taking about.
"If I die just know I love you, your brother, and your mom so much. And tell your uncle Josh that he's the love of my life" he chuckled at that last one.
"And kiss the family for me" he added on.
"Dad you're not gonna die, I mean not soon" she corrected the out of context statement.
"But if I do, I've lived long enough. I've stayed alive for as long as I could, and that counts right" he realized that he only said that in his head.
Ruby wasn't there during her fathers hard years, she wouldn't Understand. They tried their hardest to make her life less miserable than Tyler or Josh's combined.
"She's strong , not like her dad" Tyler whispered.
