*wedding day*
(Still ruby's p.o.v.)
Obviously dad was already awake, I've come to believe that he probably never sleeps.
"Dad you're more ready that I am" I laughed at him. He was sprawled out on the couch flipping through the channels and basically inhaling a can of red bull.
"Of course I'm ready my daughter is getting married!" His energy level went up.
"I'm enthusiastical" Jenna chimed in from the other room.
"The limo comes at 3 o'clock, the photographer Comes at 5 and the reception starts at 7:30" Alex barged in with a clipboard in his hands.
"Smarty pants knows more about my wedding than I do, honestly you guys should just get married today" I breathed out and then chuckled.
"I'm so stressed out, I have to try on my dress again, and what if it doesn't fit?" I slicked my hands through my hair and looked straight at my dad.
"What if it all goes down hill?" I asked.
"When I got married to your mom I literally thought your uncle Brendon would chime in randomly and ruin the song surprise I had planned. I thought your uncle Josh would confess his love for me before I could say 'I do'. I thought your gramma would lose the rings. I thought your mom would say 'I don't' instead of 'I do'" he started.
"But if you love the person you are getting married to and your only intention is to marry them, then nothing can stop you. Not even a screwed up wedding"
"How do you always know what to say? And how do you always seem to have the same issues that I have? And how the heck are you always prepared" I was so confused but so grateful.
"Ready to get married?" He asked getting up and holding his arm out as an invite to interlock with mine.
"Let's go do this thing" I smiled.
*later that night*
Tyler walked his daughter with one arm and Josh was on the other.
"Ruby you need to stop being so pretty" Josh laughed to hide his tears, which were real this time.
"Uncle Josh. You gotta stop dying the peach fuzz on your head that you call hair" Ruby chuckled under her veil.
"Stop growing" Tyler interrupted the both of them.
"We're getting too old josh" he kept walking straight.
A few more inches till he would hand his daughter off forever, but no pressure.
"Do you Ruby take Michael to be your lawfully wedded husband through sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?" The priest asked.
"I........do" Ruby didn't hesitate, but she stumbled on her words when she looked over to see her proud father standing straight and smiling.
"I know pronounce you husband and wife you may kiss the bride"
Everyone cheered, but Ruby saw her uncle Josh put two fingers up that indicated for the kiss to be short and sweet, of course it was for Tyler's sake. ;)
The father daughter dance that night was purely majestic.
"I really hope that you live near us so your mother can have someone other than me to talk to about curtain shades" Tyler giggled.
"I really am going to miss you dad, you've been here from the beginning. Thank you for supporting me, loving me, and being plain awesome."Ruby kissed her dads cheek.
"My daughter" I still can't get over that phrase. I hope I live to see the day you have your own kids so we can all smuggle them with gifts and hugs and kisses. I want to live for that moment"
