Yuzuki pushed open her apartment door to find the place in darkness. The outside porch light poured into the doorframe and she sauntered inside with Kakashi behind her. "Katsuko?" she called out softly. She flipped on the kitchen light to reveal the mess. Packets of chips laid strewn across the counter, an empty soda bottle and her bouquet of flowers in a new vase Katsuko most likely went to buy while she was out.
She arranged the assorted flowers into the glass vase beautifully.
In the living room was the remnants of a game night with Katsuko and Sasuke both asleep on the lounge. Several sets of boards were laid out, cards were sprawled across the floor, the shoji game turned upside down, most likely Katsuko acting like she lost and flipped the game.
"By everything holy." cursed Yuzuki placing her hands on her hips over the two sleeping figures on her couch. Sasuke was lain across Katsuko's chest, peacefully asleep and Katsuko who had one arm over her head, her mouth agape with drool and one leg hanging off the couch.
"It's almost adorable." Kakashi whispered from the kitchen and swiped all the chip packets into the trash trying to make the least noise possible with all the scrunching. "I repeat. Almost."
Yuzuki turned back to him and slipped out of her sandals. For some reason it was a very nostalgic feeling even though she's never experienced this before, or at least, hasn't- not really. It felt like two parents coming home to their children who trashed the house.
"I have a mission tomorrow, so I won't see you." he said grabbing her gently by the waist and reeling her in.
"Bummer." she pouted wrapping her arms around his torso. She gazed up at him and tip toed to peck his mask. Kakashi reached up and pulled down the mask obscuring his face and pressed his lips to Yuzuki's glossy lips.
"Ugh." came a groan from the couch forcing Kakashi and Yuzuki apart. "Get a room." Katsuko's husky voice said. Yuzuki sighed when Kakashi pulled up the mask. She turned back to Katsuko who shielded her eyes from the lazy kitchen light.
"Why don't you go home?"
Katsuko scoffed hugging Sasuke's sleeping form closer. "By law, I am under no obligation to move." she snuggled back into the cushions.
Yuzuki gazed back up at Kakashi who playfully rolled his eyes. She chuckled softly and nudged him. "It's late and you have an early mission."
"I sleep in anyway."
"That's unlike you."
He shrugged. "Well, shit happens-"
"Oh my god!" Katsuko whispered stopping their conversation yet again. "Go home, Kakashi. Come back for that ass when she's better and I'm not here."
"That's not-"
"Katsuko!" Yuzuki scolded softly trying not to wake Sasuke. Katsuko merely giggled to herself before her smile faded and she dozed back into sleep. Yuzuki turned to Kakashi and pushed an awkward smile. He took several steps back towards the door.
"I'll see you later then." he said slipping out of the door. Feeling suddenly empty, Yuzuki looked down to Katsuko and Sasuke sleeping together on the lounge. She roughly shook the red headed who groaned and lazily swatted her arm.
"Sasuke needs to sleep in his own bed." Yuzuki said softly.
Katsuko groaned softly. "Fine." she peeled open her tired eyed and took Sasuke in her arms. She slugged down the corridor into Sasuke's room where she laid the boy to sleep in his won bed and pulled up the covers. Katsuko came back to sleep on the lounge. "I'm staying." she informed.
