Tayler

"This is my favourite restaurant," Hayes said as he led me inside Chipotle.

"Mine too!" I laughed. We both laughed & sat down at a booth.

"Thanks for giving me your jacket," I zipped it up, "& taking me here."

"The pleasure's all mine," he smiled & slithered his hand onto mine. I flitched his gesture & saw his face become down a little. I picked up the menu & skimmed through it.

"Queso & chips with chicken quesidellas. You can't go wrong," he suggested. He ordered those for the both of us.

"So tell me what are you interested in?" he asked as he ate his chips.

"I'm a dancer. Art student. Just two percent away from the honour roll," I explained simply.

"That's interesting," he held my hand again. I flinched again.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"Hayes I'm not interested in being one of your hoes," I told him straight up.

"What do you mean?" he asked.

"I mean, I don't want to be your replacement Anastasia. I see the way you treat girls," I looked to the side.

"Tayler, I told you. I'm not the person who people say I am. Yeah sure, Anastasia can't make up her mind but I'm done with her," he held my hands tight now, so tight I couldn't wiggle out.

"How do I know?" I asked him.

"Because Tayler, I've been into you a long time now. Daniel's told me so much about you & I've always seen you in the halls & my heart stops every time I see you. Can you at least give me a chance?" he smiled silently. I didn't know what to say.

"I don't wanna get my heart broken by a bad boy," I uttered.

"I'm not a bad boy, sure I've done some rebel stuff but over all, I'm a good kid. Just stupid rumours," he sighed.

"I don't know Hayes. I'll have to think about it," I stood up & reached for my back pocket.

"No," he stopped me & put the money on the table. He ordered it to go & stood up with me.

"You need a ride home?" I asked.

"Thank you," he nodded. He took our takeout & walked to the car. I got in & started the drive to his house.

Much conversation didn't take place because I was thinking. Hayes was holding my hand tight during the ride home & giving me googly eyes. He was cute, super cute but could I trust him? I mean Hayes has had a lot of girls on his arm. I didn't wanna be added onto the list.

I parked on the sidewalk of his house & walked him to his front porch.

"Thanks for the meal & the jacket," I started to take it off.

"No keep it," he held my hands which were on the zipper & gave me a warming smile.

"Thank you," I blushed.

"I had a great time," he smiled at me & looked into my eyes again.

"Me too," I smiled.

"You should probably get home, it's getting late," he reassured me.

"Yeah," I nodded slowly.

He leaned in close & just when I thought he was about to kiss me & I was gonna take a dodge, he kissed my cheek lightly & hugged me. It was gentleman-esque of him. I walked to my car & I could feel him watching me.

"Don't let Anastasia give you crap!" he yelled.

"Thanks!" I yelled back with a chuckle & got in & drove away.

Tonight really changed my view on Hayes. He was sweet & kind & funny & caring. I liked it. Maybe I was wrong about him the whole time.
