The next day was a school day. Yay, fun (note the sarcasm). You probably don't want to hear about my day at death (*ahem* I meant school). And so, I will fast forward to lunch.
At lunch, I was sitting with Julia, Eva, and Layla. We talked about what had happened the night before. Then came our "friend" Bree. She strutted over to our table and sat herself down.
"Sooooooo, what are you guys talking about?" She asked.
"I went into the Haunted Candy Shop last night," I said.
"Really?" Bree asked, skeptically.
"Yeah. She wasn't even scared." Layla said.
"Yeah, uh huh, sure, alright," Bree said sarcastically.
"You don't believe us?" Julia asked.
"It's a little hard to," she replied. "I mean, listen to yourselves. No one has, nor ever will want to go in there."
"Seriously Bree," Eva said, "you know Alex doesn't believe that stuff."
"It's a bunch of bologna," I stated.
"But still, the place is uber creepy."
"Alex doesn't care," Eva said.
"Well then, let's just hope that the candy doesn't come and get Alex."
My friends all solemnly nodded in agreement. I was starting to get a teeny tiny bit fed up by this.
"Guys, stop it!" I snapped, "I'm not going to get haunted by a ghost, nor am I gonna get killed by possessed candy!"
"Oh, little Alex, poor little Alex." Julia said with pity.
"Seriously, it's not like I'm gonna get attacked by sour patch kids!" I said.
"You just wait and see," Julia said.

The rest of the day went by so stinking slow. It seemed almost endless. So, naturally, when we got dismissed, everyone bolted. Except for me. I don't do running. So I was walking home from school. I was about three blocks from home and two blocks from school. In other words, I was about halfway. I then heard something behind me. I looked back, but I saw nothing. The last crossing guard was between the school block and the neighboring blocks. So they couldn't be the ones making the noise.
I shrugged it off as a prank from the middle school boys that lived in that area. They were constantly doing that stuff. I kept walking in the direction of home. I then heard the noise again. I looked around again. I decided not to pay attention to it. It might just be a cat or a raccoon or a squirrel. I continued to walk home. Then I heard the noise again. This time, I walked in the direction of the sound. It was coming from the bushes. I walked over, pushed apart the bushes and...
It was a gummy bear.
Wow.
I got all suspenseful over a red gummy bear that was laying in a bush. I picked the little thing up and I inspected it. What the heck was a gummy bear doing in a bush?
Then the gummy bear bit me.
It hurt. A lot. You'd think that a gummy bear's bite would be completely harmless, right? That is incorrect. The stupid gummy bear drew blood. It felt like tiny needles got pushed into my thumb. I instinctively let go of the dang gummy bear and looked at the bite mark. It went deep. Blood was oozing out. I looked up.
The gummy bear was running down the street.
"What the heck..." I muttered. I probably shouldn't have done this, but I ran after the little thing. Judging from the fact that the little thing's legs were tiny, the gummy bear should have been super slow. But it was the exact opposite. I couldn't catch the thing. The bear had a head start, so that gave it a bit of an unfair advantage.
I chased the bear down the block and across the street. Finally, the bear ran into a bush. I caught up and leaned on the fence behind the bush. After I caught my breath, I trudged over to the bush. I pulled apart the bush so that I could see behind.
The gummy bear was gone.
