Ontario, Canada. Cold most of the time, kinda rainy. A lot different from Dallas, Texas.

That's where I'm originally from. I'm moving to Canada to be with my dad. My mom is convinced I've been away from him for 'far to long' and should get away for a while. She thinks this because i guess you could say I'm the more quiet type who doesn't get out much and sticks to her environment. Also because my dad misses me, so she says.

It's not like my mom will be alone, she has my little sister, Carmen, to keep her on her toes. And i know, you're probably wondering 'why doesn't your sister go to Canada to?' Carmen's only 6, thats why. On the other hand I'm 16. Big difference.

My parents have been divorced for 6 years. So I was 12 and my sister was a baby when it happened. Yeah, it was a rough time for the family. My dad then moved to Ontario to get away and I guess 'start fresh' so I don't know why he wants to see me now.

I packed my bags packing everything i will need and set them on my bed.

"Valerie!" my mother yelled from downstairs. Yep, thats me.

"We need to go!" She continued.

"Coming!" I said grabbing my bags and going downstairs.

"Let's go." My mom said with a soft smile helping me with my bags to the car.

My little sister ran out after me and my mom, hopping in the back seat as I got in the passenger seat while my mom drove.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" My mom asked as she drove to the airport.

"Well, i mean yeah. I haven't seen him in a while, it'll be good to get out the house too." I said and shrugged unsure.

"Okay good." She smiled.

My flight was going to take off soon, luckily we got to the airport on time. My mom insisted on walking me inside. Of course.

"Flight 816 to Ontario Canada, now boarding at gate 32." The lady over the speaker announced.

"Thats you." My mother said and hugged me.

"Yeah, Ill miss you." I said hugging her back.

"Miss you too hunny." She said handing me my bags.

"When will you be back?" Carmen said hugging me.

"I'll be back before you know it." I said and weakly smiled at her. She smiled.

"We love you hunny!" My mother called out as I walked to the gate.

"I love you guys too!" I said walking and giving my ticket to the flight attendant along with my bags except for a carry on.

I then boarded my flight.

Ontario, Canada, here I come.
