FOUR.

I woke up to the annoying sound of my alarm clock going off on my phone. Which means, sadly, its time for school. I drag myself out of my bed and go to the bathroom where I took a warm refreshing shower and brush my teeth.

Since it was the middle November, i decided to wear some denim jeans and just a sweatshirt. Not to much to make me look overly dressed but not to little to make me look like i don't care about my appearance. I decided to just leave my curly light brown hair out and natural today.

I looked into the mirror.

"This'll do." I said to myself as i walked out the bathroom and to my room to grab my back pack and phone.

"Valerie! You don't wanna be late on your first day." I heard my father say from the bottom of the stairs. I sighed and walked down with all my stuff.

"Uhm, have fun on your first day hun."

"Yeah, thanks dad." I said grabbing my keys to my new car and walking out the door. Awkward.

As i put my stuff in the truck, I saw someone from the corner of my eye come up to me. I turned my head to see Grayson and I'm guessing some of his friends coming to me.

"Hey Valerie!" Grayson said with that perfect smile.

"Oh, hey." I smiled back.

"So first day at school?" He smirked. I rolled my eyes.

"Sadly yes." I said and he chuckled.

"Don't worry, you'll be okay." He smiled. "Oh, these are my friends." Grayson said turning to them.

"Hi! I'm Dorothy!" A girl with long black curly hair said to me. "I think we'll be great friends." She smiled. (Welcome dorothy_marie_1996 from instagram)

"Hey, I'm Cameron." Another girl with dark brown hair said.

I smiled back at both of them. Dorothy seemed really nice and bubbly, Cameron did too but she seemed sassy at the same time. I waved at both of them.

"Hey dude!" Another guy came from the other yard.

"Oh hey Alex!" Grayson said doing some guy handshake.
(Bet you weren't expecting that ;)

"This is my friend Alex, Alex Aiono. I've know him since i was a kid." Grayson said swinging his arm around him.

"Hi." I smiled, then looked at my phone. "I should probably go before I'm late."

"Oh yeah, see you Valerie!" Grayson said running back over to his yard.

"See you!" Cameron and Dorothy said in unison running with Alex to the yard.

They seemed nice I thought to myself as I got in my car punching in the directions to my now new high school.

It was surprisingly easier to get there than I thought. I parked in a free spot and got out as everyone watched me walk to the main entrance. Why.

I walked inside and got to the office.

"Could I help you?" I'm guessing the secretary said.

"Yeah, uh I'm new. My name is Valerie Lockhart."

She looked through a couple files and then handed me my schedule and locker number. She then looked up, looking out the door.

"Linnea, could you come here?" She said to a girl with golden blondish hair. (Welcome delightfully_dolan from insta)

She turned around and walked over.

"Yes Ms.Harper?"

"This young lady, Valerie here, is new. Do you mind showing her around?"

"Not at all! Come on." She smiled at me leading me out the office.

"By the way, I'm Linnea." She said smiling at me.

"I'm Valerie." I said and smiled back. "Do you know where this locker is?" I said looking at her.

"Oh yeah! Come on." She grabbed my wrist and brought me to where my locker is.

I opened my locker with the combination assigned.

"So you're new?" Linnea smiled at me. She seemed really nice

"Yeah." I chucked nervously.

"Well, I'm here if you need help. I already consider us friends." She said and smiled leaning on the lockers. I smiled back.

"Well thanks." I chuckled. As i put my stuff away I saw two other people coming towards me and Linnea from the corner of my eye.

"Hey Linnea!" They said in unison.

"Oh hey guys! I'm just here with Valerie. She's new." Linnea chuckled. I closed my locker nd turned to face them.

"Hi! I'm Paige!" A girl with blonde hair smiled. (Welcome dolan.cake from insta)

"And I'm Chastity." Another girl with brown hair and glasses said.

"Hi." I said and waved.

"I just have to show her around." Linnea nodded.

"Oh thats cool!" You could hang out with us if you'd like." Paige said.

"Oh. uhh sure." I smiled. I really wasn't expecting this.

"Yeah, you seem pretty cool." Chastity said. Was that sarcasm?

"Oh, thanks." I said and she smiled.

Thats when the bell rang.

"Oh what do you have?" Linnea said looking at my schedule.

"I have English." I said holding my notebooks.

"Omg, me too!" Paige said smiling. I smiled back.

"Well we'll see you two at lunch." Chastity said.

"Yeah see you!" Linnea said walking away.

"You could sit next to me!" Paige said leading me to the English class.

I smiled. So far so good. Right?
