ELEVEN.

I had a dream last night. In my dream I had been sleeping and jolted awake to see someone looking over me from across my room. But now that i think about it, it seemed more real than a dream.

I'm driving to school right now and lost in my thoughts. My dad hadn't been there again this morning. I'm tempted to call my mom, but I know she'll bug out about it and make me go back home. I know I'm having trouble adjusting to here, but I have a feeling the adventure is just starting for me.

I haven't seen Grayson since that day after school which was only 2 days ago but it still bothers me. No texts. No calls. Nothing.

Its weird, so I plan to try and go see him after school..

Once I got to school, I parked in the parking lot and got out. The bell was just about to ring so I had to get to class fast, I drove here pretty slow because of icy conditions. Thats why I'm here later than usual.

I made my way into school and to my locker. There wasn't enough time for any of my friends to come up to my locker so I just made my way to my first class and went through every class rather fast. The day was cut short from the ice outside so we ended up having a half day- which meant lunch was cancelled.

Chemistry came around and I sat in my seat next to Ethan. He was quiet for the most part and a simple 'hello.' Also when we got our grades back from our assignment from the other day.

The teacher placed the paper on our desk. We got an A. Specifically a 97. I couldn't believe it. Chemistry wasn't my strong suit, Science wasn't in general.

I looked over at Ethan and I saw him smiling. Smiling with his teeth. It made me smile.

"We did good." He said and smiled with a low chuckle. I was still smiling, but I tried to hide it.

"Yeah, really good." I said and chuckled. It was quiet between us for a second.

"I'm glad I was partnered with you." Ethan said and looked at me. I hesitated but looked at him, into his intimidating eyes.

"I am too." I said before looking away. I was nervous, I felt intimidated by him. Its crazy how he could have this affect on me when I barely know him..

After that it was quiet again. Everyone listened to the teacher and I couldn't help but look out of the corner of my eye to Ethan a couple of times, just to see a few times he was doing the same to me..

After school ended, I went to my locker before going to my car. I was gathering my things before Linnea came up to me.

"I heard you got a 97 on your paper with Ethan!" She said nudging me. I shook my head and closed my locker.

"Who told you?" I said confused looking at her. She's not in my Chemistry class.

"Chastity told me." She said and chuckled. I rolled my eyes playfully.

"Yeah, so I got a 97. " I said and chuckled.

"Thats great! Usually Ethan wants nothing to do with any type of partner project. I'm surprised he worked with you."

"Wow thanks." I said almost offended. She shook her head and laughed.

"I didn't mean it like that silly! I told you multiple times, 'he doesn't socialize with anyone but his own group' and for him to be like this with only you, it just seems odd." She said looking at me.

Like always, I just shrugged. I don't know why he's like that, I haven't got the slightest idea. And I sure wasn't going to bring it up to him.

"Okay well I have to go meet up with Chastity, we're going shopping. Oo! Me, you, Chastity, and Paige should go shopping soon! It'll be fun to hang out outside of school." She said smiling.

"Yeah definitely." I said and smiled.

"Awesome! I'll see you around!" She said and ran off. I waved before walking outside.

I walked out the doors to see everyone around, hanging outside their cars, along with Ethan.

We locked eyes but I turned my head and walked in the opposite direction to my car.

Then, my life practically flashed before my eyes.

As I was walking to my car, I heard screeching tires and my name being yelled.

I turned around and saw a car coming straight for me. I screamed and debated on running or ducking, as if I had time. Everything was in slow motion. Before I knew it I had no time and ducked down, closing my eyes in hope of a miracle and that I wouldn't die.

And thats when I heard a crushing sound but I felt nothing. I wasn't hit. And I certainly wasn't dead.

I hesitantly opened my eyes. I couldn't believe what I saw.

It was Ethan.

He was hovering over me and had his hand in the side of the truck that was about to hit me. I couldn't process what happened. Did he just stop this truck..? No, he couldn't have. Right..?

I couldn't process words and just looked at the dent in the truck and Ethan's pale hand. My eyes followed up his arm and bicep till I looked at his face. I was nervous and scared and couldn't believe this. He just saved me.

Ethan was looking at the truck and then slowly turned to me with wide eyes.

His eyes were golden, and they locked gaze with my hazel ones.

We stared into each others eyes for what felt like eternity, but in reality it was not even 3 seconds.

The was no contact or touch between us, not even words. Just eye contact.

Eye contact that was way more intimate than anything else could possibly be..

He then stood up and quickly went off, leaving me there- stunned, afraid, and very confused.

People started rushing over and the person in the truck peered out his window with a bloody nose.

"Valerie, I'm so sorry. I lost control of my truck.." He said in a panic.

I was overwhelmed. I wasn't hurt, not at the very least thanks to Ethan, just confused. I just couldn't process how Ethan could've possibly gotten over to me so quick when he was all the way across the parking lot. But what really had my mind twisted, was how he stopped this truck.

I guess these are the things that happen when its icy out in Ontario, Canada.
And when you have someone named Ethan around...
