THREE.

"Hi, I'm Grayson." He said holding his hand out in front of me.

"I'm Valerie." I said and shook his hand.

"Hopefully you two can become friends seeing he lives right next door." My dad said.

"I'm sure we can." Grayson said and looked at me smiling an award winning white smile. Damn.

"Good." My dad said and smiled. "Maybe you can show her around town Gray?"

"Oh, yeah no problem." Grayson said. "Wanna go for a drive?" He said looking at me with a smile.

"Oh yeah, sure." I said getting in the passenger seat.

"Sweet." He said hopping in the drivers side. He put the keys in the ignition and started it.

"Have her back soon son!" My dad called from the door of the house.

"I will!" He said out the window before backing out the drive way.

You're probably wondering. What the fuck am I doing in a car with a kid I met literally five minutes ago. I know what you mean. But my dad suggested it, he wouldn't do this to me unless it was safe right?

"So you're Mr. Johnson's daughter?" Grayson said driving.

"Yep." I said and chuckled.

"He always talks about you."

"Really?" I said looking at him not really believing what he said.

"Yeah." He said and laughed. "He always goes on and on about you to my dad."

I nodded. This is honestly kind of weird. Yes the part about being with a kid I just met but I never really go out like this either.

"So how old are you?"

"I'm 16." I said looking out the window.

"Oh, me too!" He said. I looked at him and saw him smiling. The perfect smile from before.

"Cool." I said and chuckled. I bet you could tell I'm kind of awkward. Like I said, I don't get out much.

"So tell me about yourself Valerie." Grayson said. I tried to think. What do I even say??!

"Uhm well, my name is Valerie Johnson. I have a little sister named Carmen. I live in Dallas Texas with my mom but I had to come visit up here to see my dad. And yeah." I said and chuckled nervously.

"Cool, well I'm Grayson Dolan. I'm an only child. And I live with my dad and that's it." He said and chuckled. (A/N- Cameron Dolan isn't in this (sorry) and Ethan will come later and everything will make sense.)

"Oh nice." I said and nodded.

"Well let me show you around." He said driving. "That there is the main library of Ontario and beside it is one of the most famous ice cream shops..."

He continued on and I was honestly fascinated by everything here. Not to mention, Grayson also seemed really nice. Hopefully I could get to know him more and be his friend.

"Well we're back." Grayson said parking in my driveway and getting out. I hopped out the car.

"That was really fun, thanks for showing me around." I said and smiled.

"Anytime." He smiled. "I believe these belong to you." He said holding out the keys to now, my car.

"I think they do." I smirked as he threw them at me and I caught them.

"Hey I meant to ask you, do you go to Eastwood High School? Cuz tomorrow's my first day and I was hoping I could know someone there." I said. Please let him go. Please..

"Nope. I'm actually home schooled." He laughed. "I'm sure you'll do just fine Valerie." He smiled. Oh greattt.

"Yeah, thanks." I said and put on a fake smile.

"I'll see you around, I'm next door if you need me!" He said running to his yard.

"Thanks Grayson!" I said looking at him before going inside my dads home. As soon as I walked in my dad was standing right at the counter. He even waited for me. Wow.

"So, do you like him?" He asked. I saw this coming.

"He's cool, he seems nice." I said shrugging it off.

"Okay good." My dad said nodding. "You have school tomorrow, I'm suggesting you get to bed."

"Yeah, goodnight dad." I said going upstairs.

"Night Valerie." He said. I went into my room realizing I wasn't even unpacked.

'That'll have to wait.' I thought to myself putting my bags on the floor. I went through one and found my pjs changing into them. My normal sweatpants and tank top.

I sat on the bed that is now mine for a few months and took out my phone plugging it into the wall. I decided to call my mom, figuring she'd want to hear from me. It rang until she picked up.

"Hello?" I heard her say. It's only been 10 hours and I honestly miss that voice. Me and my mom are very close.

"Hi mom."

"Valerie! I'm so happy you called. How's Ontario treating you?"

"Pretty good so far." I said and shrugged even though she can't see me.

"That's good. How's your dad." My mom said with no emotion.

"Seemed fine. I don't think he's with anyone else either."

"Okay." I heard my mom say, still no emotion. "Meet anyone else so far?"

"I met this one boy, Grayson. He's the neighbor."

"Oo was he cute?" My mom said teasing me. I don't know if you could tell but my mom likes to get in on all the gossip and try's to be the 'cool mom.'

"Mom, stop." I said and chuckled. "But, yeah. He was pretty cute." I said looking down.

Honestly, he was. The brown hair with blonde. The hazel eyes. The perfect white smile. Not to mention his amazing personality. I definately don't regret hanging out with him for the 6 hours that I did today.

"Aww good. Anything else happen?"

"Well dad got me a old used car but at least I can get around."

"Oh that's wonderful hunny! Be careful though!"

"I know." I said rolling my eyes. "I have school tomorrow, I should get to sleep."

"Okay hunny, let me know how it goes. I love you."

"I love you too. Goodnight." I said smiling before hanging up the phone. I put it down next to me pulling the covers over me and laying down in the bed. It was pretty comfy but it's gonna take some getting used too.

Now I start a new school tomorrow, new people, new teachers, new everything. Hopefully I could get through it. I closed my eyes and let myself fall asleep to the sounds of the wind.
