There's No Point

"Lydia! What the hell have you done to yourself?" my mother snapped at me as she pulled up my sleeve, examining my bloody wrists.

"Mom, it's not what it looks like!" I reassured her.

She furrowed her eyebrows.

"Hey mom. Do you know the nearest store for con-" Lucas came barging into my room sticking a banana into his mouth.

"Holy crap Lydia! Nice going!" he suddenly exclaimed, beginning to slowly back up out of my room.

I, in the mean time was drowning in my tears.

"Look, mom. I guess I should tell you..." I began to explain to my mom the whole story about everything that happened: Gwen, the party, the drinking, the bullying, and now this.

My mom sat by my side in complete shock as to everything that has occurred.

"Oh honey! I feel awful." she apologized. Really, it wasn't her fault.

"I need to go report this to Gwen's parents right now." she said as she began to stand up from my bed, preparing to exit the room.

"Mom, there's no point! She doesn't live with her parents..." I explained to her.

My mother frowned. "Well how can we stop this from occurring?"

I shrugged my shoulders. Really, this could go on for the rest of senior year.

"Lydia, I think you need help honey." my mother said.

"No mom, I'll be fine. I won't cut again, I swear." I promised to her, though I knew that the promise couldn't be kept.

"Okay then. Honey, just don't let them get to you." she spoke softly as she exited my bedroom.

I felt as though maybe my mom was actually starting to snap back into reality.

After a few minutes I decided to go check in on my brother.

I stood up from my bed and exited my room, and walked down the hallway towards Lucas's room. As I got closer, I could hear noises coming from inside his room.

I opened the door, which surprisingly wasn't locked, and found Lucas on top of Alyssa on the bed.

"LUCAS WHAT THE FUUUUUUCK?" I was so shocked. He's only 13! I still haven't even lost my virginity and I'm 17, which I know is still kind of young... BUT STILL.

I never even expected someone as sweet as Alyssa to do this...

Lucas immediately jumped off of Alyssa, quickly pulling his shorts up.

"What are you doing in here Lydia?" he sounded pissed.

"Well you know, I wanted to try and spend some time with my 13 year old brother but it looks like there's no point in that now!" I explained to him. I was also sort of embarrassed over the fact that I walked in on them...

"Look, nobody wants to talk to you! Nobody likes you, and you just screw up everyone's lives. Now leave, and never talk to me again!" he shouted, shooing me out of his room.

As soon as I left the room's atmosphere, the door slammed shut behind me.

What he said kind of hit me... hard.

Like I know we're siblings and siblings always fight... but, did he actually mean that?

Now I felt useless. I really had no friends. The only one left was Aliza, but she wasn't really talking to me that often anyway.

I decided to go downstairs to check on my mother. She was in the kitchen, back to her "normal" self, staring out the window drinking tea.

Looks like she really didn't change at all.

I returned upstairs into my bedroom, and plopped down onto my bed.

Was there any point anymore? In life?

About an hour later I felt my phone vibrate on my bed.
