You want to know something crazy? The last two weeks of my life have been harder than I've ever experience. I've seen things that I would gladly wish to un see if it meant I could get a good nights rest. We survived all the hardships that this new world brung along and our prime goal was simple: Havens Peek. We risked our lives to find this place and to get to where we are, some of us not being to lucky to see our journey completely through.
We made it here... We finally made it here.. And now we must leave. Leave the safety of this place because it was harming someone we cared about. Someone who help us through our journey. Without her, we wouldn't be alive today. Lauren fought for us and protected us with all that she had. When I found out who she really was.. It broke me. She lied to me and made me believe that she was someone she's not. She was our enemy! Her kind took pleasure in killing our kind. From then on I thought I'd never speak to her again. But the past couple of days got me thinking and wondering why she protected us. Why didn't she just kill us? Why did she save us.. Why did she save me? There were so many unanswered questions that I intended to get.
But unfortunately Lauren wasn't herself. Havens Peek did more damage than expected and drained the life out of her. When we left Havens Peek Lauren couldn't even stand up straight. She didn't respond to anything and all she wanted to do was sleep. We ended up finding a small cart and dragging her around in it so that she could fully recover. We tried to find a safe place where we could live in peace but we had nowhere to go. This world wasn't safe anymore and neither were we.
For the past week we've been searching for our safe place. The first four days food wasn't an issue. We'd eat from the foods that Max and Dinah had stolen from Havens Peek which were mostly sandwiches and crackers. But we were slowly running low on food and knew that if we didn't find a place soon then we would slowly starve to death. After another day of smaller portions of food and endless paths of grass, we could see in the distance a broken beaten up gas station Mart and decided to take shelter there. Once we arrive we were lucky enough to find that the gas station store wasn't as empty as we thought.
"What are we doing guys? We have nowhere to go. We should have just stayed back in Havens Peek." Dinah scoffed. She had been the most upset about leaving. She knew it was the right thing to do but she also knew that there was nothing out here for us.
"You know that wasn't an option." I stated. I was getting tired of hearing Dinahs regrets.
"And why wasn't it? So your little girlfriend could live to see another day? She's not even human." she frowned her eyebrows walking closer to the green eyed girl who sat weakly on the floor of the small shop.
"Alright Dinah.. That's enough." Liam firmly shouted standing between the girls. Liam was the peace maker of this little group of ours. Whenever Dinah and I would get into an argument he would always break it off.
"No Liam. Let her say what she wants to say." the green eyed girl spoke up. Lauren knew that holding your emotions inside was not the smart thing to do.
Liam backed away from the girls and stood next to Max."Fine. Since no one else here will say it. I will.." Dinah said stepping closer to me. "Honestly, my problem isn't with you Lauren.. It's with Camila." she spat out directing her attention to me.
"And why is that?" I asked.
"You know why. This whole thing.. It's your fault. If we had just stayed in Havens Peek then we wouldn't be sleeping on the ground or trying to find food to survive." Dinah shouted. Her blood was now boiling and all the anger she had build up was now spilling out.
"This was all your idea. It was your plan. Did you ever stop and think of what might happen to us after we got out.. Huh? Did you!?" she yelled.
