Laying on the grass staring up at the blazing sun, I could feel the warmth vibrate throughout my body. I could feel the stringy wet grass beneath my toes. Breathing in the fresh crisp air of the morning sky. I hadn't felt this relaxed in what felt like forever.
Being able to de-stress and take a breather felt foreign but I quickly adjusted to it in our new location.

Ever since we found Normani's family, they introduced us to what look like an entire colony of people just like us. Normani told us that after the dwellers arrived her dad put together a group of people to fight back. One thing led to another and somehow they ended up with a couple hundred people living in tents. It was amazing what people can do when they all work together.

Clothes lines hung drying wet fabric, dark grey smoke brew from the burning fires, & children's laughter surrounded the camps. In some strange way it felt like home. It felt safe.

Normani and I were attached at the hip upon my arrival. There were so many things we had missed out on being apart for this long. She told me how her dad tried to fight for me, and how they tried to bring me with them but the dwellers prevented them from doing so. I talked about my journey on the way here and a certain green eyed girl who'd made my heart flutter. Normani smiled and gave me a hug, and for a second it felt like the invasion didn't even happen. It felt like I was back home watching movies and having long conversations with her again.

Lauren well adjusted to her new lifestyle as well. The flock of soldiers willing to fight accepted Lauren, and used her as a secret weapon. She taught them easier ways to defeat the dwellers. Mr.Kodei eventually made her some kind of leader of the army. Even though it meant that she would be spending less time with me, I couldn't help but embrace her in the tightest hug and shower her with kisses.

"Babe it's not that big of a deal. The chief said that I'll just be the one giving orders whenever we go hunting."

"Lauren it is a big deal! You've came such a long way and now look where you are." I smiled. "I'm just proud of you, that's all."

"Well thank you for sticking by me. And I'm proud of you too."

"But I didn't do anything.."

"Yeah you did." Lauren smiled. "You didn't leave me behind. You could have stayed in Havens Peek.. I knew you were pissed off because you found out what I was and I lied about it to you. But you didn't leave me. You gave up you're safety for me and I am eternally grateful."

I wide grin appeared on my face as I wrapped my arms around her body and attached my lips to hers. I could feel her hands glide down my body stoping around my waist as she pulled me closer. Her soft hands started to roam my body and I knew where this was going. Ever since we arrived Lauren & I hadn't been able to keep our hands off each other. When we were together we'd always be in some way touching. Whether it was hold hands or kissing, there was no way I could keep my hands off this girl.

I rolled over onto my stomach as I sat up on the grass. I could see Liam in the distance helping a small old women stir something in her gigantic pot. He would always be doing nice things for others; helping out as much as he can. Everyone loved him because of his handy helpful self. He was good with tools and if something needed fixing he would be their to help. Dinah had also took a liking to his new character traits. They hung out more often then not, walking together and going out for lunch. It was almost like they were a couple, and everybody knew but them. Normani and I would tease her every chance we get.

"What should their name be? Linah or Diam?" Normani chuckled walking beside Dinah and me.

"How about DL, like on the down low because that's what they are." I laughed along.
