"How are you feeling?" Lauren asked as she examined Camila's injuries. It had been almost 10 hours after she found Camila in the woods and the brown haired girl still wouldn't share what had happened to her. She was exhausted and didn't get one ounce of sleep.
"I've been better." she whispered giving Lauren a weak smile.
"Do you want to talk about it?" lauren asked trying to get any information out of the girl. But Camila shook her head and returned to her cradled position on the small bed. Lauren signed and started cleaning around the area, trying to keep herself busy. She knew that when Camila was ready to talk, she would.
"Lauren?" the petit girl spoke up after a few minutes of silence.
"Yeah?"
"Can you.. can you lay with me for a while?" she asked. "Just until I fall asleep."
Lauren smiled softly. "Of course I will." she said making her way over to Camila. As soon as the green eyed girl laid down, Camila quickly wrapped her arms and legs around the dark haired girl causing her too giggle. Her head resting on her chest.
"Comfortable enough?" Lauren chuckled and Camila nodded pulling her in closer. They laid there silently, with nothing but the sounds of there own breathing. It was relaxing. Just having each other by their sides. Lauren can't remember the last time she actually took a break and just relaxed with Camila. She missed it. She missed her.
"I'm sorry." Lauren spoke up after a long comfortable silence.
Camila looked up at lauren. "Sorry for what?" she questioned.
"Last night.. I didn't mean to get upset. I shouldn't have accused you of kissing that boy."
"It's okay." she said "You were right anyway, he's a bad guy."
"What do you mean?" Lauren asked curiously.
Camila sighed not wanting to remember the events from last night.
"Look.." she said changing the subject. "I know we've both been a little off lately. The truth is, I just miss spending time with you.""Me too." Lauren looked down towards Camila as she stroked a strand of her hair behind her ear. She started absentmindedly stroking her hair back and repeated the motion over and over.
"How about this." lauren thought. " How about I take you out tomorrow night?""Like on a date?" she asked.
"Yeah. Like an official date. How's that sound?"
"It sounds great but.. don't you have to work?"
"I can get someone else to cover my shift. I mean how hard is it to watch over a barrier. It's the most boring job in the entire world." she chuckled
Camila giggled and thought about lauren's words. A date? An actual date? What would they even do? Camila thought.
"okay.. I'm in. What are we even going to be doing for this date?" camila asked.
"You'll see."
Lauren continued to stroke Camila's hair as they laid there comfortably in each other's arms. Camila's eyes began to flutter close as she thought about their date tomorrow.
This should be nice she thought. A nice distraction from what had happened the night prior. Camila wonders if she'll ever be able to tell Lauren what had happened last night outside the barrier. The attack was brutal and she new she couldn't keep it a secret for long. Especially now that she knows Lauren's parents were the ones who attacked them.______________________________
