Havens Peek

You ever wondered what your life would be like without someone. Without that one person who makes you feel special. Who makes you feel like you belong in this world. Well when your laying in the middle of the road 12 feet from your car you start to think about those kind of things. You start to think about all the things that you haven't done and all the things you wish you could do.

I stared up into the blue sky hoping to hear loud sirens. All I could hear was the flames emerging from my beloved car. The smell of burnt metal danced around me as I lay there silent. There was nothing I could do. My car was gone and I was going too. I started to close my eyes. I heard that if you die with your eyes wide open it takes a few hours before they can close again. Then I heard it. The loud prolonged warning bell. They were coming for me. I closed my eyes waiting for my life ahead of me. Waiting for my second chance. Waiting for that someone. Waiting.. Just waiting

Looking to my left and right there was no one around. As I began to open my eyes and become more and more aware of my surroundings I realized that I was in a hospital. I sat up reaching for my forehead  which was covered with a bandage.

It was quiet.. Too quiet. The lights were flickering on and off and I had developed a feeling that something was wrong. I threw my feet over the side of the hospital bed and managed to stand up. I felt dizzy upon standing and sat down immediately placing my hand on my head. I took a deep breath and started again.

I walked towards the door not hearing a sound. Which was strange, hospitals are usually chaotic right? So why hadn't there been a single sound?

I opened the door and slowly peeked out.
There was no one in site, papers were thrown across the floor. A bad odor lingered the halls, and a reddish liquid cascaded the wall. The lights were completely shut off and it seems as though I had been abandoned. I limped down the hallway, my leg must have gotten messed up from the crash.

Where was everybody?

There was a faint noise coming from the room next to me. It sounded like something had been dropped. I placed my hand on the knob turning it slowly to reveal what was behind the door.

Opening it completely there was no one in site. It reeked of what only could be described as a stomach churning, sickly odor.

My eyes widened as I looked to my left. A lifeless body laid on the floor. I fell against the door as I lost my balance.

I had never seen a dead body in my entire life. I closed my eyes telling myself this wasn't real, that I'm not really here.

Another sound came from the room, this time to my right. I looked over and saw counter tops and cabinets typically used for medical supplies. Still there was nothing in my sight.
I couldn't take the smell of the dead body anymore so I started my way out until I heard someone sneeze.

The room appeared empty but there was somebody in here. I turned back around and into the room looking more closely. The cabinets would be the only place any one could hide in here.

I slowly walked over to the cabinets ready to open.

As I did a girl a little taller than me jumped out towards me pointing a gun at my face. I immediately raised my hands up in defense.

"Are you one of them?!" The girl yelled.

I didn't know what she was talking about. The girl saw the confused look on my face and lowered her gun slightly.

"Who are you?" She asked

"Camila."

She walked towards me and spun me around. My hair flew over my head as she looked at the back of my neck. I yanked away and she nodded as if to confirm something. Two other people crawled from out the cabinets.
