Chapter 7

Riker POV

"They're going out on a date!? Where!? Why!? When!?"

"Riker, I don't know. I just know that they were going out on a lunch date, and then they left."

"Where are they going!? For how long!? Why!?"

"I don't know, Riker."

I jumped up from the couch.

"I need to go find out!"

Dad put me back on the couch.

"You're not going anywhere. You're grounded."

"For what!? All I did was tell Ross to shut up! And he deserved it!"

"Riker, you're grounded for disobeying, and kicking, and hitting, and everything else you did."

I pouted, and glared at the floor.

"Give me your phone," dad said.

"It's upstairs. Why don't you go get it?"

"Don't give me attitude, Riker Anthony. You're already in a ton of trouble."

"I'm only grounded."

I got smacked on my cheek really hard.

"Enough with the attitude," dad said before walking upstairs.

I just glared at him. And then he turned around.

"And you have to stay on that couch until I tell you that you can move."

He continued up the stairs, and I crossed my arms. I haven't been awake for 30 minutes, and already, I'm in a ton of trouble.

Rydel left to go help mom with something. I had to use the bathroom, so I snuck away to the bathroom down the hall.

I was just finishing up when I heard dad's footsteps coming downstairs. I wasn't quick enough...

"RIKER ANTHONY LYNCH!"

I quickly finished, and left the bathroom to see a very angry dad.

"Chill! I just had to pee!"

"Couch. Now!"

I started slowly walking back to the couch, but that only got me another smack on the butt. I ran to the couch, and curled up. Somehow, things don't seem as scary as they used to be. I'm not as upset as I'd usually be. But then again, maybe it's just the tranquilizers making me tired.

I ended up falling asleep on the couch.

Later...

Paige POV

I followed Curt into his house.

"So um... This is where I live. My parents aren't home right now, but I still live with them. I'm saving up for an apartment."

"Cool."

"So um... I had a really great time at lunch today."

"Yeah, so did I."

"Um... So maybe... Do you want to grab dinner tomorrow?"

"Yeah, that would be great!"

"Awesome. Can I pick you up at 6:00?"

"Yeah. But I'll probably be at the Lynch's. When Rydel hears that I'm going on a date, she's going to want to give me a makeover or something."

"Ok. Sounds good."
