Chapter 19 : Running away from home

Chapter 19

Riker POV

"Riker... Paige has gone missing."

"WHAT!?"

"There's security camera footage from the hospital. Ashley was seen taking her. And they tracked her phone. Her phone was at Macy's. And nobody's at Macy's house anymore."

My eyes filled with tears.

"This is why I didn't want to tell you. I hate seeing you cry, and you've been doing it so much lately."

I curled up into a very tight ball. My whole body was so tense. All my muscles felt tight.

"Riker."

"No. Just leave me alone."

I pulled the blankets over my head, and cried into my pillow.

Later...

Rydel POV

Riker's currently laying on my lap, crying his eyes out. He hasn't stopped crying since mom told him.

"Riker."

"I don't want to live without her..."

"Riker, don't say that."

"I love her, Rydel..."

"I know you do. They'll find her, Rik."

"What if they don't?"

"Then you'll be ok."

"No, I won't!"

"Shhh... Calm down."

I was sort of petting his head in my lap.

"I need her..." Riker whined.

"Riker... Stop whining..."

"I want to go do something other than lay here."

"Well I don't think you're allowed to."

Riker bit the bottom of my shirt.

"Hey! Stop that!"

I pulled it out of his teeth.

"Then let me get out of this freaking room! I have nothing to do!"

"I'll ask mom when she comes in here to check on you, ok?"

I sighed.

"But I want to leave."

"Rik."

"Please, can you just go ask mom and dad if I can like... go in the backyard or something?"

I sighed.

"Fine."

I got up, and found mom up in Ross and Ryland's room.

"Mom, Riker wants to know if he can leave the living room. He's bored out of his mind, and he keeps complaining and whining. It's really annoying."

"I'll go talk to him."

"Ok."

I followed mom downstairs. But when we got there, Riker was gone.

Riker POV

I'd run out the back door, into the woods. I heard my family calling my name, so I ran deeper into the woods.
