Chapter 20 : Anniversary

A/N : I know, a lot of updates, but I typed so much today! I'm glad you're all enjoying the story. Here's the last update for tonight!

Chapter 20

Riker POV

I got home, and knocked on the front door. Rydel answered it, and immediately threw her arms around me. She started sobbing into my shoulder. I don't do well with other people crying, and I didn't really know what to do. I just sort of hugged her back.

"Rydel, who was at the- RIKER!"

Mom hugged me so tight I could barely breathe. The rest of my family came running out, and it turned into a group hug. I couldn't breathe.

"Guys! Too tight!" I yelled.

Everyone broke apart.

"Riker Anthony Lynch! Just where do you think you went!?" Dad yelled.

I thought I was safe... Guess not...

"I was looking for Paige."

"Stupid!" Dad yelled.

"Yeah, I know it was stupid!" I yelled back.

Dad brought me to the living room. Looks like nothing's changed.

"Well they caught Macy and Ashley. They're being held at the police station right now. But they claim to not know anything about Paige."

"Wait. Why were they together?"

"Well they're cousins, but they said they were getting together to go to the mall."

"Dad, they didn't do it."

"How do you know?"

"Paige is fine. I went to her house, and she explained everything. It's just a misunderstanding."

"When did you find out?"

"I don't know... 30 minutes ago?"

"Why didn't you call and tell me!? The police need to know these things, Riker!"

"Well sorry! But I was crying and stuff! And I was scared because I know I'm in big trouble... I'm sorry... I know it was stupid and dangerous to run away, but I have feelings for Paige, and I wanted to save her so she'd fall back in love with me!"

Dad sighed.

"What?" I asked.

"I don't know what I'm going to do with you..."

"I'm sorry, dad..."

I looked up at him, trying to give him my best puppy eyes so he'd go easier on me.

"You can't do that again, Riker."

"I know... I'm really sorry."

Dad sighed.

"What!? Stop sighing! You're making me nervous! Just punish me already!"

"I'm not going to punish you."

"Wait! Why!?"

"Because you're sorry. And you came back home. You told me the truth."

"Oh..."

"See how things are when you cooperate, and you behave?"

"But I ran away."

"Riker, you know what I mean."

"I'm sorry... I won't run away again..."

"Well I'm going to go call the police and tell them what happened."
