An opportunity gained

Chapter 1: Updated

As I sat down to eat my breakfast a letter was in the place where my food would normally be, I looked down confused and then saw something I never thought I would see, the letter had the WWE logo on it. My hands were trembling as I reached down to pick it up, and I slowly started to open the envelope.

I pulled the letter out and it read:

Dear Miss Cornelius,

I am delighted to be writing to you on behalf of the WWE to offer you an opportunity I don't think you will want to miss.

Recently with the new WWE NXT Performance Centre opening we have been looking for new talent to join the company, especially from the U.K. We have received a file and video of your wrestling abilities from your trainer Mark and were very impressed with what we saw.

We hope with this news that you will consider what we are about to give to you.

Enclosed is a first class ticket to Orlando Florida (which we hope you will use), with this ticket we would love to see you fly from your home in the U.K and join us for a tryout to become a WWE Diva.

Discuss this matter with your parent/guardian and please get your trainer Mark to send us your response within the next week. If we do not hear from you then will take this response as a no and offer this opportunity to someone else, we hope you understand this.

"MUM!" I screamed passing the letter over to her.

She read it through and the sighed. "What's the matter?" I asked her.

"This is wonderful don't get me wrong, but you're only 16 you can't be swarming off to another country. What happens if you don't get accepted?" She said staring at me.

"But what happens if I do?" I stared right back.

"I just don't want you to be disappointed that's all love" she put her hand on top of mine.

"I know that mum, but how I am going to get through life if I don't get disappointed every so often? I need to do this, it's my dream and if I don't go for it I'll hate myself forever" I pleaded with her.

She sat there for a few minutes contemplating what I just said. "Give me Mark's number I want to speak to him about all of the details" she said as I jumped up and hugged her. "Don't be getting too excited I haven't said yes yet!" but she had a smirk on her face so I already knew she had.

This was happening, I was about to start my journey to the WWE.
