Calen Nathaniel Night

You want to know about me? Well let me start with my family well I should be more specific since I'm the next in line to become Alpha of the Northern Pack. I mean my blood family there is my Dad Benjamin Nathaniel Night. My mom Meya Silver Wolfe. My little sister Kela Rose who was only three. My grandparents gramps Nathaniel a.k.a Nate Night and Nana Keala Rose. Who are my dads parents Gramps was the Beta, and then there's Pops Howlen Wolfe who was the alpha and Papa Cazmir Silver. Who are my mom's parents. Yes you heard me right mom has two dads and Papa is a cat shifter a panther. According to my Mom and Dad I take after them both. I was born with black and white hair. My left eye is blue and the right is green eye and I can shift into a wolf and a cat a lion to be precise. Mom is only able to shift to a cat a tiger minus the strips and she has white hair like Pops. She also has one green eye one blue. Kela hasn't shifted yet but she takes after Dad she has brown hair and brown eyes. So that's my blood family so far. I haven't met my Mate yet, and wondered who he or she was. I was open to any creature and by creature I mean human or shifter, male or female.  Tonight is mine and my best friend and future beta Maxine (Maxi) Welcome home party and it's also the annual bonfire. She had invited her mate Josh who is a fox shifter I was the only one who knew they were mates well them. We had just returned home from school late last night. I've spent all day with the folks. Now I'm waiting on Pops and Papa to come we were going for a run. Then I was going to help gather wood for the bonfire. Dad will be handing over alpha to me in a few weeks he wanted to do it tonight but traditionally a new Alpha doesn't take over until after they met their mate and I asked dad to give me two weeks. I was hoping to go visit other packs maybe just travel then hopefully I will meet my mate.

"Hello my boy how have you been" Pops said cheerfully as he came into the library where I was sitting and writing.

"Hey Pops, where's papa" I smiled stood and hugged him.

"Playing with Kela of course" he laughed I should of guessed.

"Oh are we still going for a run" I asked. I was a bit upset I hadn't seen Papa in a year and all I asked for was to go for a run then he could go spend all the time he wants with Kela.

"Absolutely" Papa smiled as he came in carrying Kela. Pops took her and then Papa hugged me. "I've Missed you Cal" he continued. Only the grandparents called me Cal.

"Bubba" Kela smiled and reached for me. Of course I took her.

"Let's go find Momma" I smiled.

"She and your Dad were in their office" Papa said. We went they were still in the office. I wasn't sure how would ever take over they shared the responsibilities and still seemed to be always working.

"Hey Calen" mom smiled taking Kela from me. Dad was busily typing away on his computer.

"Are you and Dad coming to the party tonight" I asked watching Dad.

"Yes...Benji will you get off that thing and pay attention to our son" mom said. He automatically looked up and tryed giving that innocent look.

"Hey son sorry. I'm finished now" he said.

"Maybe you should come with us Son" Pops said.

"Yea and invite Gramps make it just for us guys" I said. I really wanted to reconnect with my family. Exspecially dad we barely have had time to go for a run or really anything else since Kela came along.

"That sounds fun, Kela and I can go hang with Nana start cooking for dinner" Mom said kissed Dad. Then me,Pops and Papa on the cheek then left.

We went after that meeting up with Gramps on the way. I really enjoyed running  with Dad, Pops, Papa, and Gramps. I really hoped we can do this more in the future. Now I'm sitting with my whole family having dinner. After I was going to join the ones who where going out to collect wood for the bonfire. After dinner I had a few minutes alone I didn't know why but I had this weird feeling, but couldn't place it I circled the city nothing looked out of place everyone seemed happy and excited about the party tonight. Maybe it's just the excitement.

I was now gathering wood I still couldn't shake the feeling something was wrong. When suddenly I felt cold and stepped in snow that seemed to appear from nowhere. I had to find out where this came from. As I walked I looked all around for any sign of where this snow came from. When I heard movement to my left. I spun just as a griffin raised it's head it looked injured and just as surprised to see me as I was to see him. For all anyone ever knew they died out long ago. I step forward I wanted to help him. Clearly his right wing was broken and I couldn't see if he had any other injuries. He made a weird sound.

"Alpha Calen" one of the many guards called I looked to see her coming this way. I looked back to where the griffin was and he was gone.

"You know I'm not alpha yet correct, Amy" I asked. I was worried about the griffin.

"Yes sir I know, we were seen the snow and was wondering where it came from. We were ordered to head back to the pack house the only one that didn't return was you so a few of us came out looking for you" she answered clearly she didn't see the griffin.

"Ok let's get back" I said and headed back toward the pack house. I did glance back but he still wasn't there. Maybe I can get a first aid kit and sneak out here later. Everyone was concerned about the snow and where it came from. Mom and Dad was close to calling off the party until I assured them that I looked everywhere and didn't see anything to be worried about. I didn't want to freak everyone out about the griffin. So I kept it to myself besides I don't think it will do any harm exspecially while injured and maybe if I can help him he won't harm anyone.
