Over the last few days I've spent every moment with Calen. He was becoming Alpha tonight he did ask me how I felt about becoming alpha as well even though we haven't even kissed. I still felt he should be with one of his kind, but for the life of me couldn't ever give him up. I was sitting on the couch of his newly required office. He sat at the desk along with his mother and father. I wish I would of known my parents. I knew of other griffin's in the core but they were placed in other regions. Watching the way Madam Meya and Sir Ben was with Calen and little Miss Kela. I hope one day I have children of my own and can be as good as a parent as they are. Calen looked up at me a flashed a smile. I have to say I was lucky he chose me though he says wolf shifters don't chose their as they say mates. I wanted to make our bond more permanent. I wondered if they have marriages here. We have them back home but they are for the royals and nobles.
"Penny for your thoughts" Calen asked his parents had just left to go have lunch with Little Miss.
"Thinking about several things. Like I'm curious do your people have marriages" I said.
"Sometimes, Dad was asking why we haven't mated yet" he said.
"How would he know we haven't, and why would it be any of his business" I asked. Not much bothers me but this was one subject I didn't want everyone familiar with our private lives.
"Mates take on each other's scent and we don't have marks, and it's not like he wants detail. He and mom know you stay in my room. They just want to be sure you won't reject me" he answered. I knew that if a wolf is rejected by their mate they can die of a broken heart. I got up from the couch and went to where he sat. I kissed him rather forced, but soon turned sweet quickly.
"I will never leave you Calen" I whispered between kisses.
"And I will never leave you Arlo. Will you be my husband" he said after pulling away we both needed air.
"I would be honored" I smiled.
