-Jessie
“Aye Jessie.” the last time I checked my birth certificate it said Jessica Miles. Who is this bitch calling aye? I turned around to see Michael. Why the fuck hasn’t this bitch boy been shipped yet? Some next bad breed. I kissed my teeth as he jogged over to me.
“Yes peasant?” he laughed.
“Still rude then.” He commented.
“Still wasting my time.”
“Man’s just tryna holla. Aint heard from you in a while.” His dark skin was complimented by the sun. I studied him for a bit, before walking away. “So can’t I get your number?”
I scoffed. “I don't have anything to offer you, so walk away.” I said rather politely.
“Babes don't be like that.” He said still following me.
“Babes? I'm far from being your babes.” He chuckled.
“Where you going?”
“Far away from you.” I retorted.
“I'm going to meet Jamal, you know.” I swallowed hard.
“Jamal?” he smirked.
“Yeah, he’s just round the corner. You should come with me.”
“No I'm fine thanks. Maybe next time.” He chuckled.
“He misses you, you know.” I raised my eyebrows.
“Is it really?” I asked unconvinced.
“Yeah. It is.” He watched me closely. “Well I'm going this way.” I nodded slowly and carried on walking.
“Jay is that you?” I rolled my eyes and slammed the door shut behind me. “Oh it’s you.” he sounded disappointed.
“Oh nice to see you to dad.” I snapped sarcastically. He rolled his eyes.
“Cyan said she's dropping Maya round. Apparently you’re babysitting.” He said walking back into the kitchen. I followed taking a seat on the counter.
“First I've heard of it.” he shrugged and dished out my dinner. “So why do I have to do it?” What about you?”
“I'm not that good with kids and I'm going out.” I looked at him oddly.
“You have two kids and where are you going?”
“Look how they both turned out. I'm going out with Sarah.” He handed me my dinner. I kissed my teeth.
“Yeah you’re right. Ones got a sex problem and probably has an STD by now and the other gets counselling for no reason.” I chose to ignore the fact that he’s going out with the woman. I spooned some rice into my mouth.
“You know why you go counselling Jessie. Your behaviour wasn't exactly normal, was it?”
“Yeah, keyword; wasn't. Pass tense, which means that I'm fine now. So why do I still have to go?” He turned to face me.
“We’re not going to have this conversation again Jessica. You’re going and that's final.” He sighed. “I'm starting to sound like your mum.”
“Yeah and we wouldn't be having this conversation if she was still alive.” I said more to myself. I left the kitchen and went up to my room. I berried my head into my pillow and screamed.
Soon I was stuck in the house looking after my little cousin. “Maya.” I called out to her as she was watching the TV. She turned to me with a cute smile. “Are you hungry?” She shook her head.
