Present Time
Klaus

Caroline rolls her eyes.

"Klaus, now is not the time to be blaming Marcel for everything. I need the truth," she rolls her eyes, thinking I was joking.

"Caroline, you need to listen to me, okay?" She looks confused and a bit shaken up, but nods as I guide her to sit on my couch. Her blue eyes never leave mine.

"Who hurt you? I want to help-" I shush her, instinctually taking her hand without thought of my actions. She doesn't take it away, luckily. I feel her slightly shaking.

"It was Marcel," I state. She shakes her head, laughing nervously.

"W-what? No. No Klaus he wouldn't do something like this. I know he hates you but he loves me and knows you're my friend. He helped me get over the fact you left and-"

"Caroline! Listen to me. Marcel took Rebekah and I. He tortured me for a whole month, meanwhile lying straight to your face. I wouldn't make something like this up," I say, my tone serious. She grabs her hair tightly, running a hand through it while standing up. I follow her.

"Stop it..." she whimpers. I can hear the pain in her voice. She knows I'm right.

"There's something else," I sigh. I break at the sight of her; tears falling down her normal bright and smiling face.

"Don't tell me... Please just stop Klaus," she pleads, but I know she needs to hear it. I have to.

"Marcel compelled you to love him. He captured you, took you to his apartment and made Rebekah compel you, all so he could hurt me," I tell her, scared of what her reaction will be. She looks up, confused.

"W-what?"

"He's been faking this all along. He never loved you, and you never loved him. He was with Rebekah all along. It was all revenge," I tell her. Caroline stays silent, the tears streaming down her face.

"No. You're lying," She attempts to walk away but I grab ahold of her arm.

"Look at me. Hey, look at me," I force her to, and she cries more.

"I knew it. This was all apart of your plan, wasn't it? Make me worried for you for a whole month and then blame it all on Marcel just so we would break up?!" I know she knows I'm right, but she needs to take her emotions out on somebody, and if that means me, then so be it.

"You're in denial. Look at the facts. He hired a witch, Serena. She tortured me for a whole month. She tortured Rebekah and made her watch. Marcel never loved you Caroline. And you never loved him," I say. It's almost as if something clicks in her.

"I have to go to him," she growls. I restrain her with my grip.

"I can't let you. If he knows you know about this-"

"I'll act normal. But I have to know for sure. Let me go."

"Caroline-"

"Klaus let go of me," she tenses, and I can't help but loosen my grip. She takes the chance and squirms out of my hold, swiftly vamping out of the apartment.

I open the door.

"Caroline!" But she isn't in sight.

"What the bloody hell just happened?" Rebekah comes out of the shower, her hair wet and wearing my oversized clothing.

"I told her everything and she still went back to Marcel."

"What?! You just laid it out on her?"

"There wasn't another way, Rebekah! How am I supposed to tell her my own sister betrayed me and that Marcel never loved her?" I bring up the fact she is very much involved in this, and her face goes pale. She wears a guilty look, and frowns.

"Klaus, I said I was-"

"Sorry? Yeah, I got it," And with that, I slam the door and climb into bed, letting my thoughts take over. I was overwhelmingly tired, and my bed seems to call for me. I have to trust Caroline in what she's doing.

"Rebekah, what have you done?" I say to myself before falling to sleep in a matter of seconds, exhausted.
