Chapter 5: Woman in White

I awake early the next morning. I got dressed again and geared up. As I looked out the window I noticed that it was sunrise yet so I decided I would take my money and go shop a bit. As I told the others Alice insisted on coming as well as she wanted to get some new arrows and I, of course, let her come. We left the Inn and what strait for the market district. That's when my stomach started rumbling and I realized I hadn't eaten since the ice cream yesterday. Me and Alice went to one of the stalls and got a bit of roasted meat. We walked on while eating and came across a potion shop. Deciding that I would need them I bought 4 magic potions adding up to a total of 48 gold. We then came to the Black Smith Erik whom Alice wanted to come see about arrows.

"Ello, what brings ya inta ma shop today. New arrows, Alice? Who might dis be? Ya boyfriend." Erik said with a wide grin.

"Yes arrows, and no he isn't my boyfriend. He is the one we have been looking for. Also I could use a new bow. I finally have enough gold saved to get that longbow I wanted. Here's the gold." Alice said tossing the pouch to Erik. "150 pieces."

"Tanks I'll git you da bow." Erik said walking off to the back of the store and started rummaging around. Wow 150 gold pieces that seems like so much. I thought. As he returned with a bow almost as tall as Alice he tossed her a small pouch, took her old bow, and handed her a string.

As she strung her bow I asked him. "Have you got a large cloth bag And maybe a leather sheath fit for this dagger?" I said handing the dagger to him. He looked shocked at the item.

"Is dat da dagger from da Snake Lord. I only seen it once before. I'll give ya 400 gold for it." he said. Now it was my turn to be shocked. 400 gold just for a dagger. How could it be worth so much. Even Alice seemed shocked.

"Thank you so much. However I must decline. I will need something for close range and this is just what I want. It I ever find something better though I shall sell it to you. Now about the large back and sheath. Can I get those please?" I stated upset about declining that much gold but feeling like it was the right choice

"Er yes. 8 gold." I handed him 8 gold pieces and he turned around walking to the back room. "Just wait a moment." he said obviously let down. He returned with a large bag, probably the largest in stock, and a small leather sheath. I fitted the sheath to my belt, put the dagger in it, and the pack around my back. "Have a nice day." he said.

"You too." me and Alice said before walking away. As we started walking towards the Inn again I hit something hard. As I fell back a man with a greatsword and shining steel plate armor stood over me.

"What a pathetic creature thinking you could possibly touch me. How dare you. You will regret that." he said reaching for his sword.

"Harold stop it!" some girl shouted from behind him. The man stopped and lowered his arms. The woman then proceeded to walk towards us. With the light behind her dressed in all white, she looked like an angel. For a second I truly thought she might be. She was gorgeous. Blue eyes. A white cloak. White painted heavy armor with a steel hand and a half sword with a white shield going from just above the ground all the way up to her neck. She looked like a Goddess. "I apologize for his misbehavior. Can I maybe treat you to something in return for his rudeness? Pick anything you want and consider it yours." Anything I huh. I already knew what I would choice.

"How about just a date? Me and you tonight." I said and as I did I noticed Alice seemed like she was almost brought to tears.

"A date it is. Meet me here. Once the final rays of the sun go away." she spoke smoothly.

"You got it." I said. With that we both went out separate ways. I dropped Alice off at the Inn and told them I would not be back until way later. I made my way out to the Cavern of The Snake Lord and decided I would make a quick run through it. This time I noticed there were more snakes. I however have a stronger spell now so that will be fine. Instead of a torch I used Flare anytime it got too dark. Though I had to say the word I noticed it had less a recoil, but still a strong one yet. The first floor this time had 28 of the 7 foot snakes. I just used Firebolt 11 times quickly doing away with them. I collected the loot per usual. I made my way down the stairwell and was brought to shock. The Snake Lord was right there this time. I decided not to dwell on it too much and want about my way launching 3 Firebolts before shouting "Splash!" and using two Sparks. He perished and as he did 23 of the larger snakes can put of cracks and holes in the wall. Seeing this I knew the dungeon was far from done. These were much harder seeing as I had to maneuver around them sometimes even having to jump onto the wall and doing flips while launching spells. As the last snake burst into flames I decided to use a potion. After that I collected the loot and made my way down the stairway.
