Malevolent or Virtuous?

Chapter XLIII

(The Genova mansion)

Thirty-five minutes later... 

I hear Drake's voice calling my name and then I feel someone's hands on my shoulders shaking me to wake me up, so I finally do.

"Emily, we're in Chicago." I look at him to see him in front of me.

"It's time to go, we just landed a few minutes ago and first class is clearing out," He explained to me. "So I need you to get ready to board off."

I nod and yawn afterwards.

"Had a good nap?" Kuro asked who was behind me.

"Yes, I did." I answered.

I watch as Mrs. Kya, Mr. Adison, and Mrs. Thompson open the overhead bin. Our two teachers and principal start taking their suitcases down and then they leave the plane.

Satoru rises up from his seat and takes his brother's suitcases down for them and then taking his out last. That is very nice of him to do that. They roll on out of here and then Richard, Yzsa and Hatesth get their suitcases down. After Richard takes his suitcase down, he turns to us.

"Drake, I leave you in charge to make sure the rest of our group gets off the plane, you should be able to find us in the lounge waiting for you." With that, he leaves and Kaydyth, Destroth, Kuro and I are left alone under Drake's supervision.

"He always leaves me in charge when it comes to this sort of thing, even when I was five." Drake explains to me and opens the overhead bin above us.

Destroth and Kuro open their bin and get their suitcases out after Drake got mine and his out. He made me go, then Kuro, Destroth, and then him last so he could make sure that we got out.

We meet the rest of the group in the lounge just like Richard said we would. We exit the airport and get in a school bus that Mrs. Kya told us to get in.

"I had so much fun being in New York," Mrs. Kya said starting a conversation that broke the silence. "Besides the part when Emily was kidnapped, then shot, and when we had to perform the surgery, but besides all of that, I think we had a great experience being there."

"Yes, I agree." Mr. Adison says agreeing with Mrs. Kya.

"Me too." Kuro, Kaydyth, Yzsa, Satoru, and Rukuro said the same time.

"But, I bet Emily didn't have a good time," Mrs. Kya said turning to me. "Am I right?"

"Well, going up in the Statue of Liberty was awesome, I think and then eating at a Japanese restaurant was fun." I said trying to be optimistic by looking on the bright side of my trip. I don't really want to tell everyone of what happened back at the mansion and King Norman. I just don't like bringing up bad memories from the past.

"Yes, I agree." Ryuichi said adding a small smile.

"Well, I'm glad everyone had fun and learned some things while we were up there." Mr. Adison said joining in with the conversation.

"Soon, we'll have to start closing in on the exams before graduation that is coming up in November." Mrs. Kya adds.

"Is everyone having school right now?" I asked Mrs. Kya.

"No," Mrs. Kya replied, "Remember, the whole class is missing the principal, and then three important subjects would be minused from the schedule, math, history, and science. Those are the main and most important subjects in school." She explains and then I know what she means now.
We arrive at the school and we get off taking our luggage with us.

"Emily, let's ride in my car," Drake says and I follow close behind him. "And don't worry, my brothers and cousins have a ride." He explains to me as he opens the back trunk of his car. I lift up my suitcase and I lay it down in Drake's car, Drake takes his suitcase and sets it next to mine.
