(Drake's bedroom)
I see Drake's head move and eyes open up and look up at me. "You what?" He said weakly.
"I didn't say anything." I denied quickly.
"But I heard you say something, like I love you." He said.
"No I didn't." I nervously said trying to cover up my tracks.
"I can't read your mind because I'm too weak, but I'm sure my ears caught you saying that you loved me." He said with a smile appearing on his face.
"Drake." I said but Helene entered the room before I could finish what I wanted to say to Drake.
"Drake, you're still awake." She said laying her tools on Drake's night table. Later, Kaydyth comes in the room with the shots and blood bag in his hands.
"Thank you Kaydyth, you can set them right here." She said as she prepared the tools. I don't know what the tools are for, but it might have to do with Drake. That is my best guess.
"Emily," She says as she starts getting the tools ready, "In just a second, I'm going to need you."
"Alright." I reply.
"Okay," She finally says after a moment getting prepared. "Pull out your arm for me." she commands. I follow her order and she sticks an IV into my arm and then into Drake's arm after. "Hatesth." She calls.
"Right here," He answers, peering from behind the door. "Do you need anything?"
"Can you please pull out a chair for Emily to sit on?" Hatesth nods and sets a chair behind me and I take a seat. "Thank you." Helene says before Hatesth leaves the room.
"How much blood will Drake need?" I ask her as she was working on the tools.
"He will need enough to get back to health." She answers in an upset voice.
She leaves the room and it's just Drake and I alone in the room once more. I wish he didn't have to go through this. I miss talking to him like we used to. If only, he didn't take that vow, he would be perfectly fine and healthy. He wouldn't have to suffer through this.
But the one and only reason why he did this vow was so he wouldn't end up killing people for their blood. He doesn't deserve to live like this anymore if he doesn't want to. And I'm thinking he doesn't want to. I keep watching him and find that is finally sleeping. I'm glad, he needs the rest. I don't think he should have to answer my questions when he's not feeling so good.
It's best to wait after he's feeling better. I don't know why he never told me about his job about being a hacker for the government. Why didn't he tell me? Was there a reason for him not to? I think it's kind of cool that he works for the government to block off hackers from invading the government's systems. Did he think that I would be offended if he told me about it? Soon, hopefully I will get my questions answered. For a while it's really quiet in here and out in the hallway. I soon start to feel a little woozy because of the blood that is being taking out of me, but I am doing this for Drake. Later on, Helene comes in to check on Drake and I and see how we're doing.
"How much does he have more to go?" I asked feeling a weird, but that's okay, I can manage, it's not too bad.
"He's got a long way to go especially with the fact that he hasn't had blood in almost a year," Helene replies with a sigh and then turns back to me. "Emily, once you see the monitor reach up to one hundred percent, I want you to call one of Drake's brothers or me, okay?" She tells me.
"Okay, I will." I answer back and I lean my head back.
"But if you end up falling asleep, that's alright."
