Korra's P.O.V.

"Can I come in?" Tenzin's voice woke me up. After that night, I decided to take a long nap but as it seemed, it wasn't enough. I tried to get up but every inch of my body was hurting. So I decided to cover myself with blankets instead, to hide bruises.

"Sure." I answered shortly, running my hand through Naga's fur.

"Listen, Korra... We don't want to bore you with our advice but me and Pema are worried about you. I don't know for how long we can hide the truth from your parents." Tenzin started to talk as soon as he entered the room. "Few days ago, you came home crying and you are usually out till midnight... Do you have problems? Is there anything we can help you with?" I felt bad for worrying him and wanted to tell him everything but I didn't want to involve Tenzin in my life... And he wouldn't have understood.

"Nope. Everything's fine..." I shifted gaze from Naga to Tenzin and back.

"I get it, I was a teenager once." He answered. It was hard for me to imagine Tenzin doing anything that didn't involve working 24/7. It was obvious that he didn't believe me but didn't force the answers out of me. "Just... Take care of yourself." He added and left the room. I sighed and leaned back on the pillow. I couldn't go back to sleep, so decided to put on my clothes and go jogging.

After morning run in the park named after the Avatar (not me, obviously), I decided to go to the gym. I couldn't find Toza anywhere, guess I was too early as usual. Fortunately, I had the keys on me and quickly unlocked the door. I ran upstairs and stopped in front of my training room to catch my breath. "Urgh... Everything hurts."

"And why does everything hurt, Ms. Korra?" A woman wearing grey coat appeared in the corridor. "No need to explain, we already know the truth, The Avatar."

"I don't understand what you're talking about." I replied quickly and took a few steps back. I failed to hide my nervousness. Where is Toza? Who is this woman? Who are 'we'? What if she is one of those people, Bolin'd warned me about. Swear to spirits, if I survive this encounter, I will never ever street fight again. I scanned the room trying to find an opening but I was sure that the whole building was surrounded by 'them'.

"You are just an amateur, Korra." The woman added with mocking raspy voice. "Really thought that you could hide from justice forever?" I faced the woman and noticed a deep scar on the right side of her face. "I'm Lin Beifong, chief of police of the Republic City Police Department." She looked around the place to make sure that nobody was listening. "Don't worry, I'm not here to arrest you... We can guarantee you freedom as long as you agree to gather valuable intel for us."

"I don un..." I interrupted.

"Shut up and listen, kid." Lin Beifong sighed. "There is some serious crap going on around you which you clearly have no idea about. We have tons of documents in the department waiting to be used against you and if we do, you won't see sunlight till your senior citizenship, so let me explain this real quick. We've been tracking down criminals while you've been doing spirits know what. Luckily for both of us, some of the suspects are your close surroundings: Toza, Mako and Bolin Sanns, Asami Sato, might also be Tenzin, who knows. There are few more people but this information is confidential and you don't need to know about it. You have to tell us everything about those people, even the smallest details."

"But I don't know them at all... I've just moved here." I tried to justify myself but I panicked and failed to do so as Lin Beifong began to move closer.

"Let. Me. Finish." The chief became really annoyed. I had so many questions but I decided not to ask them. I was already playing on her nerves and didn't want to make her angrier. If that was even possible. "You are going to continue street fighting. You will become close to them, explore their life... even closer...become part of their life... And tell us everything. You will be guaranteed freedom and Republic City will remain safe. Got it?"

"How do I know that I can trust you?" I asked but immediately regretted it. She came even closer to me and started to explore every inch of my face with her cold, dead eyes. I gulped really hard. Did I really have to ask that?!

"You don't know, but you have to." Lin Beifong grinned and disappeared soon after, leaving me speechless in the corridor.
