Korra's P.O.V.
"Your money." Xin Fu Jr. threw some cash at me. It wasn't as much as I earned being the Avatar, but I didn't complain. It could have helped me get back home without paying some people off. "Who the hell are you?" He came closer, our noses almost touching. I covered my face with the headband even more. "You shouldn't have won today, little girl." He whispered in my ear. I'm starting to get really good at pissing everyone off these days. "Some people are going to get hurt. Nobody cheats Xin Fu Jr."
Finally that creep left me alone and I had time to think about future. I can always return back home where not many people care about Republic City whores but there is a chance that Lin Beifong will find me there. Why does she hate me this much? I know that I've messed up her plans a bit, (okay, a lot) but I'd never guaranteed that everything would have gone as planned. I never knew about her plans in the first place, so she shouldn't be the one accusing me. And yes, she has all rights to arrest me because of illegal fights but come on, nobody was caught for that. I've heard about Hiroshi Sato, though. I wonder if he has something to do with Asami. Are they somehow related?
I counted yuans and put them right in my pocket. I was about to leave the arena building, when I saw somebody getting cornered by bunch of people from Triple Threat Triad. I really hate those bullies.
"You will regret this." Asami's voice caught me off guard. She was the one who was going to get hurt because she's lost the battle. She was the one Xin Fu Jr. was talking about. Two Toed Ping and Shady Shin held Asami by arms while Viper punched her in different parts of the body, causing her to shriek from pain. I clenched my fists from anger and got closer to the scene. I could feel pulse in my ears and everything around me started to blur except for Asami. The only thing I was sure of, was that I had to rescue her, even if that was the last thing I would've done.
"Hey, pals! Why don't you leave her alone." I placed my hand on Viper's shoulder, forcing him to turn around. He immediately recognized the voice of a girl who put all his dudes in a hospital for weeks.
"You again." Viper hissed. "I don't usually enjoy hitting girls but me and my thugs are getting paid for this, so if you aren't looking for trouble I suggest you turn around and mind your own business."
"Or you could help us and earn some extra money." Two Toed Ping added smirking. Do they seriously consider me to accept the offer?
"Get away from her!" I repeated but this time I couldn't hide rage and squeezed Viper's shoulder so hard, that his face got red from pain.
"Oh, you know her?" Viper asked grinning. "Then we have to return the favor to your friend for you. Remember what you did to my guys?" I will do the same over again if you don't put your hands away from her!
"Leave or else." I whispered, glancing at Asami who was already staring at me.
"Or else what?! Who do you think you are?" Viper pushed my hand away from his shoulder.
"Why don't you come and find out?" Shady Shin ran towards me screaming. Asami kicked Two Toed Ping between legs and freed herself. While Ping was groaning in horror, Asami hit him hard causing him to faint. I barely dodged Shin's punch while watching her in amazement. Then concentrated all strength in my right leg and kicked him in the stomach, causing him to crash onto a wall with a loud groan. While Viper stared at Shin in shock, I decided not to lose any more time and punched him in his chin. Viper fell on the ground and didn't bother getting up. "Let's go before more of them show up." I whispered and got closer to Asami, who was standing next to the wall, catching breath.
"You saved me." Asami whispered while she was trying to keep up walking. "Shit, that's gonna scar." I looked at her and saw her white hoodie completely soaked in blood. I put my arm around her waist.
"You're going to be okay." I whispered back and felt Asami completely lean on me. If she had continued to lose blood at this rate, she would have fainted so we had to hurry up.

"I'm sorry. I'm not really good at this." I put the last bandage on the cut and considered the job done. Asami sighed and slowly laid back on the pillows.
"Thank you, Korra." She said and scrunched her nose from aching. I must have made the cut hurt her more instead of helping. There used to be special schools in Southern and Northern Water Tribes where girls were taught healing. Master Katara had been teaching me too but I can't get it right no matter how hard I try. "How did things get so complicated between us?" Asami whispered and closed her eyes.
"I don't know." I laid on the bed next to her. I couldn't keep my eyes open out of exhaustion.
"I'm sorry for kissing you... It won't happen ever again, I promise." She let out a deep sigh. "If you decide to stay with me after all this is over."
"I don't think I'll have choice." I answered and couldn't help but smile. "I've had the experience of a lifetime only in a week, imagine what we can do together for the rest of our lives." I added staring at the ceiling. "I've been everywhere searching for adventures but I couldn't really feel alive until I came to Republic City, until I met you... It is hard to explain, you know? I know that I'm in danger but it's okay as long as you're around." I looked back at Asami who was already asleep. I sighed and brushed away hair from her face.
