Korra's P.O.V.

"Korra, you're early as usual." Toza said while I was still figuring out what had happened just now. I didn't expect him to be this early and jumped from fear. It was so strange looking at a person who I considered a friend for the past few weeks, knowing that he might have been helping some kind of criminal mastermind squad and I couldn't even consider Bolin as one of those guys. Have I just become a spy? An agent? "How is our champion? You seem pale." Korra, wake up! There is no time for complaining. Your freedom is at stake, concentrate. But what if they aren't even guilty and have been blamed for nothing. What kind of person will I become when all this is over? I looked at Toza, he expected an answer from me that would have sounded natural for me, natural for the old, naive Korra.

"All bruised up." I answered and tried to think about what I would have said next. I'm the worst liar in the whole world. Lin Beifong must have been really desperate to choose someone like me. "But... I'm fine."

"I'll bring some medicine quickly. You, wait here." Toza replied. Soon after, he returned back holding a tube containing some herbal ointment from Northern Water Tribe.

"There is a girl waiting in the reception, says that she knows you but doesn't really seem convenient enough for me. Should I call the guards, Miss Sato?" Zhu Li interrupted Asami. Sato was trying to sort out some files about the upcoming business deal. The girl was so into her job that didn't notice Zhu Li entering the cabinet. "Asami." Zhu Li added and cleared her throat to get the girl's attention. "There is a girl waiting in the reception, should I call the guards?"

"What?! A girl? Who?!" Asami asked when finally got her eyes off the laptop. After what has happened the previous days, she would have done anything to get another day off but it seemed impossible. If she wouldn't have used the opportunity at the right time, there would have been someone else who would have, so it was too risky to take another break. Sato couldn't give up on what she had been working so hard for. Could that girl be...? No, she couldn't be Korra.

"I don't know, Miss Sato, should I call the guards?" Zhu Li repeated the question again. She perfectly knew that Asami didn't have time to deal with some stranger in the reception claiming to know her but it was her duty to inform Sato about everyone who stepped into the building.

"No, it won't be necessary." Asami answered as soon as she checked the latest camera recordings, quick smile of relief covering her face. Zhu Li looked at the CEO raising a brow. It was truly rare seeing Sato smile. "I will take care of the girl by myself."

Korra's P.O.V.

I don't understand why people need so many rules. Why does it require so much effort to see a person you want to see? Asami showed up in the reception after some time. If you call half an hour 'some time'. She looked so much different than the day she was at the gym. With heavy make up on, black skirt and a tie of the same color on a white shirt, wearing black high heels, she was barely recognizable. But it was so extra for her to wear high heels. She was already tall enough without those.

"Hey, Korra." Asami smiled softly. "What are you doing here?" I failed to focus on what I was about to say next as it became really hard for me to take my eyes off her.

"Hi, Asami... You didn't show up at the gym today and I was worried if you were alright. But after seeing all this mess now, they really need someone like you over here too." Asami giggled. I've felt bad that the chief of police was the reason I came to see Asami. But if it wasn't for Lin Beifong, would I have come?

Asami's P.O.V.

I've had yet another boring press conference in life. When you're a famous CEO, you have to get used to excessive attention from the media. I tried to use that opportunity to promote a new program that would have helped numerous children starving in Ba Sing Se but reporters kept asking me about stupid break up rumors instead. It is sickening that a person must be prosperous to get noticed, to be heard. And still, Republic City cared about some dating news more than about actual problems.

"... over here too." I giggled. Why was Korra here? I was completely sure that I was rushing with the conclusions but was almost certain that I wanted to keep her by my side. I was so sick and tired of seeing the same faces over and over again.

"Korra, I'm sorry that things have started off so messed up between us. Let me make this up to you somehow. How about I treat you to dinner? Tomorrow night, 9 o'clock, 'Kwong's Cuisine.'"

"What are you even apologizing for?" Korra interrupted smiling. My phone started to buzz.

"Excuse me, Korra, I have to answer." Iknik Blackstone Varrick, what do you want this time?!

"No problem. See you tomorrow, Asami."

Korra's P.O.V.

I think I'm starting to get used to living in the big city. I didn't get lost as many times without Naga as I expected me to. After street fighting and getting paid, I decided to go home. I hope I don't worry Tenzin and Pema much, but it is just something that I don't know how to explain to them. I took out the keys and tried to unlock the door but it was already open.

"You aren't harming yourself, are you?" Pema asked as I entered the house... Late... Again. I tried to hide some of the new bruises, but there were so many that I couldn't even think of from which one to start.

"No, of course, not." I answered smiling. I didn't mean to wake Pema up, but I doubt that she had slept at all. I decided to avoid any more questions about 'what was going on with me' stuff and tried to change the subject. "Could you tell me where 'Quan's Cuisine' is?"

"Quan's?! I have never heard of... Wait... You mean 'Kwong's Cuisine'?" I had no slightest clue what Asami told me, but decided to hide my ignorance. 'Kwong's Cuisine'? Sounds right to me. That must be the place. I nodded in answer. "That's the fanciest restaurant in Republic City. Have you decided to spend all your fortune on food?... Or did someone invite you there?" Pema gasped covering her mouth with both hands. "Who's the lucky guy?" I could literally see sparks in her eyes.

"What?! Guy?! No!" I snorted, rubbing my neck.

"A girl?..." Pema raised a brow.

"No!.. Asami's a friend of mine." I replied blushing. Well, I wasn't often seen with guys, but that couldn't mean that I was into girls, right? Plus, it's not like I had another choice rather than to accept Asami's invitation.
