Above: Anna's dress

Anna's P.O.V.

"You mean you haven't gotten a dress yet?" Jamie asks. I shake my head even though she can't see me over the phone.

"With everything that's been going on o haven't really thought about it." Homecoming was coming up and I still had a lot of work for school to make up since being in the hospital.

"I don't know if I'll be done with my work by then." I say.

"You have to go to homecoming, Anna. It's a right of passage." I chuckle and shake my head.

"No, prom is a right of passage. I just won't go." She hangs up. After I hear the dial tone I know that she is on her way to my house. I continue to work on my assignments until I hear the doorbell from downstairs. Not shortly after do I see an angry Jamie at my door.

"Get up, were getting you a dress.
Whether you like it or not. Then we're going to finish your work if it takes us all night." I laugh.

"I don't see what the rush is, homecoming is two weeks away."

"Just in time for your cast to be removed and your work to be completed." I shake my head as she stomps over to me and grips my arm so tight I wince. I grab my shoes and phone as she drags me out of my house.

"This is cute. Ooh and so is this." Jamie squeals like a child getting Christmas presents. I chuckle and shake my head. As I turn my head I see a glimpse of mint green. I walk over to the rack and pick up the dress. It's a two-piece floor lengthed dress and it looks absolutely stunning. I show it to Jamie.

"This is the one." She looks at it and grins. She drops the other dresses on the floor and skips over to me.

"That is going to look fantastic on you Anna." I hobble over to the dressing rooms and wiggle my way into the dress. It fits me perfectly. It's compliments my top half and my waist area and my mid drift looks nice as well.

I step out of the dressing rooms and clear my throat to get Jamie's attention.

She audibly gasps and everyone in the store turns to look at her.

"You look so freaking good, Anna. Blake is going to pass out when he sees you." I hesitate. Blake.

"Blake hasn't asked me to the dance." She waves me off.

"Oh he will, just look at you. Man if I was a guy..." She trails off. I roll my eyes and get back into the dressing room to change back onto my regular clothes.

I was pacing my room thinking of where to take Anna on our date when ig hit me.

Homecoming.

Of course, idiot.

I run to my phone and start to dial Anna's number. She picks up on the second ring.

"Hello?" She asks. I breathe.

"Are you at home?" I ask.

"I just got back from the mall with Jamie."

"I'm coming over." I hang up before she says anything.

I go to my closet and find my black button up. I put on some black slacks and my black dress shoes and slick my hair back with some gel. I grab my keys and phone and head out the door.

I drive to the chocolate shop that's about thirty minutes away from Anna's house. I pick out her favorite ones- caramel centered- and head back to her place.

Jamie and I were trying to figure out where to get shoes when the doorbell rings.

"I got it." Jamie says. I hear the door open and I hear a squeal.

"Jamie?" Suddenly Jamie comes running in with the stupidest grin on her face. I begin to ask her who it was when he walks in.

He looks so good I wanna scream. His hair is slicked back revealing that perfect face and he's dressed in all black. He has a box of chocolates from my favorite place in his hands. He walks up to me slowly, takes a knee right in front of my feet and smiles up at me.

"Anna?" I grin.

"Yes Blake?" He takes a breath. I know my mother is watching from behind me. I can hear her gasp quietly. I wonder if she's jealous, that she wishes she was being asked an important question. I focus back on Blake.

"I would be so freaking happy if you would be my homecoming date, so...will you go to homecoming with me?" I get down from my chair and I grin at him.

"Yes." His grin gets even wider and he spins me around in the air kissing my neck and face. I giggle at his soft kisses and when he places me back on the ground I see Jamie has her phone out.

"That's definitely going on snapchat." I laugh. Blake hands me the chocolates and I gratefully take them smiling up at him.

"I already have the perfect dress."
