The whole night I sat up talking to Luna about Animagi and how you become one and everything. She seemed to know quite a lot.

At one point, Draco joined our conversation and he also had many questions about Animagi. When Luna went to sleep finally at about 4 o'clock in the morning, Draco sat with me.

"I want to be an animagus," I said. "What about you?"

"I can see how it would be helpful," he said. "Maybe I'll become one with you." I smiled at the thought of Draco and I sneaking around the castle as animals.

Draco retreated back to his sleeping bag and I sat with my back to the wall and wondered what my animagus could be.

.___________.

I spent weeks after in the library researching how to transform into an animagus. I filled several rolls of parchment with notes. I pulled out every book I could and stayed up as long as the library was open.

"Goodnight Ms. Pince," I said tiredly as I left the library late at night. Ms. Pince had been most kind to me, allowing the library to stay open long after hours.

I collapsed into bed and fell quickly asleep.

The next morning, I awoke feeling very different. I reached up to stretch when I realized that my hands were paws and they were covered in white fur.

I whipped around to the mirror and staring back at me was a pure white wolf. The creature had startling blue eyes and I smiled. My wolf strolled over to the mirror.

Walking was easy. It was as if I was naturally made to be this way. I then wondered how to transform back. The more I thought of my human form, the more my body began to shift and suddenly I was human again.

I ran to find Professor McGonnagall whilst still in my nightclothes.
