Chapter 13: Exam Week

After Easter was what I like to call, exam week. We had multiple exams every day and I had just recently gotten my exam schedule. It was Friday and exams began on Tuesday for me so I was busy revising with Luna in the library. 

After lunch, Hermione found me walking back to my common room. 

"Laila," I heard a whisper.

"Hey 'Mione," I said. 

"We need you to come with us tonight to help us. We think Snape is going after the stone and we think there are other obstacles. Are you willing to help us?" she asked. 

"Um..." I said. "I'll help but up here in the castle. After you go down, I'll let Dumbledore know so if something happens we can get you out."

"Thanks Laila," she said.

Late that night, I got quietly out of bed. Harry, Ron, and Hermione had planned to go down around midnight. That was when I got up. I quietly raced down to Dumbledore's office. 

"What're you doing here so late?" asked the gargoyle.

"I need to see Professor Dumbledore. It's urgent," I said. 

"He's not here," said the gargoyle. "Urgent Ministry call." I groaned. 

"At least wake up Professor McGonagall so I can tell her," I said. The gargoyle nodded and sent a painting to do so. I dashed to the other side of the school to her office and waited outside. When she opened up the door, I told her very quickly what happened.

"Slow down," she said. "What was that?"

"Harry, Ron, and Hermione went to retrieve the Philosopher's Stone because they think that someone is trying to steal it. They're down there right now." 

She nodded and called one of the paintings. "Please retrieve Professor Dumbledore from the Ministry," she said. He nodded and disappeared.

"Thank you for listening," I said. 

"It is likely that exams will be canceled," she said. "Honestly, Albus doesn't like giving exams anyway."
