Chapter 5.
"WHAT?"
I stare at him with my eyes open wide, and my blood seems frozen. No, no, no.
"T-That's not possible. My parents' name is on the lease!" I stutter and speak.
He laughs loudly and it echoes. "So you don't know the story?"
Before I can even answer back, he says in a mocking tone,"A lovesick boy who supposedly did suicide for the girl he loved?"
He shakes his head, causing his curls to shake too. If it's possible, my eyes go even wider. "B-But, y-you were suppose to be d-dead."
The silvery aura around him seemed to shine brighter when I said that. He smirked and said,"So you really don't know who you are?"
"What are you talking about?"
"You'll see in time."
He gets up soundlessly again and starts walking. I get up and follow him.
"But wait! I need answers." I run after him but I end up banging against the end of the attic.
I groaned and slid down against the wall. I wondered how much time had past since I was here. It felt like an hour. Who knew how long I'm gonna be here yet. Worse, who will find me?
I put my head between my knees and wait. Hungry too. What I'm I doing? I stop whining for myself and get up. My eyes have adjusted to the darkness a bit, so I can make out boxes. I get an idea and start looking for a candle. These old age people have got to have something in here. I shudder about what Curly somewhat tried to tell me. I shake it off and resume searching.
I was just blindly putting my hands in the boxes. I couldn't see anything, so I was trying to feel anything I could. I touch something furry and it moves. My heart stops for a second and I try to feel it again. The object bits me and I see it skittering away.
"DAMN IT YOU RAT ARGH." I scream out loud as the pain sinks in. I bring my finger to the mouth and the metallic taste of blood flows in my mouth.
"God."
I wish I never moved away from London. I wish I never had to leave Leo. I wonder if he actually misses me. He didn't seem that sad when they threw a farewell party for me or when we broke up. Ashley must have already have a couple new best friends to replace me. UGH, WHY IS MY LIFE SO COMPLICATED?
I take a deep breath and shout as loudly as I can and let it all out. I feel better. I sigh and rub my stomach as the growling is really high now. My eyes start drooping as I fall into slumber and dream about a certain green eyed boy.

"Jean? Sweetheart? Come on, wake up!"
I am woken up to someone shaking me. I flutter my eyes open and immediately close it because there is a huge flashlight being pointed on my face. The person realises and takes it away from my face.
"I'm sorry Jean. I should really install a light bulb here." I open my eyes to find my dad smiling at me.
"Definitely. And I'm so tired. Can we go?" I said groggily. But my voice was somehow croaky and the only words understandable were 'tired'.
My dad understood and gently helped me up. I stumbled onto him and he helped me down the ladder. I close my eyes again, not used to the light yet after being in darkness for so long. I'm immediately enveloped in a bear hug with my mum.
"Oh Jean. Thank god you're okay. We had been searching the entire house for ages."
I hug back weakly and my mother carefully takes me to my room. There's a lot of food kept ready and my stomach rumbles at seeing so much food. I down a glass of water quickly and lash out onto the food. Within minutes, it's all gone.
My hand was carefully bandaged by my mum and should heal in a couple of days. I was woken up from my sleep so I was wide awake now. I glance outside the window and it's pitch black. I look my bedside clock and it says 2 am. Woah, I was there long considering I went inside at around 7 pm. I rub my eyes and lie down. Someone knocks on my door.
"Come in." My voice breaks through the silence. The door creaks open and I see my dad in the frame.
"Hey." I smile at him.
"Hi honey. How are you feeling?" He walks in, and sits down on my study table.
"After eating, much better."
I reply.
"Glad to know. I'm really sorry for what happened. My dad looks down and sees it as his fault.
"Aw, it's alright dad. It wasn't your fault." I assure him.
He smiles and grabs something. "You forgot some stuff up there. I just came to give it back."
He hands it over and it's the picture of the chick, the diary and my phone. I wince at the way it's kinda got big scratches because of the way I threw it. I immediately reach for the charger and plug my phone in. The diary, I flick through and I look up and smile.
"Thanks dad."
He returns the smile and gets up. He starts walking and then stops at the door frame. He turns around and says,"You know, the lady in the picture looks a lot like you. I think I've seen her before."
I laugh mentally at the though of ever looking as good as this chick but I agree with my dad about the part about seeing her before.
"Me too."
My dad scrunches his face in confusion as he tries to think. On his face, the way he did it, it looked very adorable. Suddenly he smiles, as though he's got it.
"Wait. I do know, who she is. She's one of your great grandmothers.
