Chapter 11.
I staggered back, still fallen down and stared at Zayn and the other guy who was staring at me curiously.
In a swift movement, he was behind me and tugged a stray piece of my hair behind my ear and I could feel his chilly breath on my neck.
"What's wrong with a littl midnight snack mate?" He snickered.
I was shaking fervently, my heart was pounding again my chest and I could feel the bile rising up my throat. I could hardly pay attention to anything that was going on. The only thing I was concentrating on, was how to escape these two without killing myself in the process.
Zayn looked at the other guy as though he was insane. Wide eyed, he exclaimed angrily,"She is Blaise descendant you fool."
The other guy became very still and stepped away and stood in front of me. The playfulness disappeared from his eyes and anger replaced it. He lunged for me and Zayn held him back and held him until the other guy quieted down.
He was suddenly very vary of me and looked afraid of me, even though I was more terrified of the men in front of me. Why did he attack me for no reason?
My mind shifted back to that girl I saw who the stranger was bleeding deeply and I remembered I had to go and help her. My mind starting rapidly thinking of a distraction, and it clicked.
My hand slowly reached out for the little bag of ashes which I had kept in my pocket for emergencies. I threw it on the ground and it bursted into really bright flames that it hurt my eye to look at. The flames turned into thick red smoke and it started choking me.
Zayn and the other guy screamed as though I injured them and I hoped I didn't make them more angry than they already looked. I turned around and ran as fast as I could towards the girl who that stranger had been killing.
A crowd of people were surrounding her, and a lot of them were gasping. I tried making my way through the thick crowd but it was difficult. It was surprising seeing the number of people just crowding, but not helping the person. I knew I had only a few precious moments before Zayn or someone comes tearing through the crowd and kills off all of these people too, so I had to act fast.
I loudly gave a scream and shouted,"She's my friend, let me through! She my friend!"
The people immediately gave way and I saw her lying on the cold pavement. I knelt down and touched her, only to find her body frozen from the cold and loss of blood. I still had that slight hope in me, but as soon as I touched her wrist, I stared wide eyed at the girl and felt really broken.
I had no idea who that girl was but she was still so young, with hopes and dreams. A future full of love and happiness. Now, it was all gone. I looked up sadly and saw blaring lights in distance, with the distinct siren noise running through my ears. A swift movement caught my eyes and I looked towards the source.
The very same girl was standing across with a bewildered expression as she stared at her own lifeless body. She then looked directly at me and I could feel her stare burn straight through me. She gave me a look which I couldn't figure out, and disappeared just like that. I heard running and screaming and I saw Zayn and the other guy running towards us.
I panicked because even though they were far behind, they could run pretty fast. I definitely couldn't out run them, so I thought about the safest place from here.
The church.
I ran with all my energy, adrenaline pumping through my veins. I heard somebody say something as I ran. They rang through my ears causing me to stumble in my run. Barely audible, but just enough for me to understand.
