Chapter 9.
"You-you what?" I stuttered to speak, at a loss of word from the information I just recieved.
He seemed rather calm for talking about a subject so morbid. About himself that too. He raised his eyebrow and spoke,"Not exactly what you were expecting was it?"
I just shook my head. Although, I was supposed to be a mediator and everything, death is still a weird topic for me. Especially since now, my room was a place of death. I had a thousand questions inside my head, and who else was it better to ask to than a ghost? Tori hardly ever talks about Harry or any subject related to him.
Eyeing Harry curiously, I sat down next to him and looked into his green eyes. They seemed strangely familiar as though I had seen them before.
Of course! My first day at this high school. I had followed him but he had magically disappeared into thin air. Now, I know how.
"Were you following me that day in school or when I was with my friend in that cafe?" I asked.
He just laughed and responded. "I think we both know the answer to that question."
"So you were the previous owner of the house? That's why you were there in the attic, the day I was locked in." I mentally fixed all the pieces together. Now everything makes sense.
"So many questions? You're a curious one aren't you?" Harry smirked.
He came closer to my face until I could feel his icy breath that sent shivers into my spine. He whispered, in a scary yet seductive tone into my ear,"But haven't you heard the saying? Curiosity killed the cat."
My eyes went wide as I turned towards his face, which was inches away from mine. I still had that little courage in me, as I wanted to ask him the question that has been bothering me the most.
I whispered,"How did you die Harry?"
He smiled and said in a rather playful tone, but at the same level. "We'll just save that for another day."
He got up and walked out into my balcony and as I sat on the bed, still in shock from the conversation that took place. I got up and looked outside to see he was gone.

I got out of my car and walked towards Tori who was already standing at the door, waiting for my arrival. She asked me to met her outside the church but the funny part is, she asked me to come at midnight.
As I walked, I stared at the old seventh century building, which had lots of work done on it. It looked sturdy, but at the same time almost like it was going to fall down. Tori smiled at me as I made my way.
"I'm glad you made it." She said, standing by the door.
I wondered why we weren't going in, or why she had called me. "Why did you ask me to come here? You said on the phone that you explain once I got here." I asked her.
She smiled a secretive smile. "I had to show you this since now you are a mediator and all. Just like how mortals come to the church every Sunday, well, the souls do too."
As she explained, she opened the doors and I gasped. There were many people here at this hour, chatting and talking as though they are old friends. But they weren't just regular people. They were the dead.
As soon as I walked in, everyone quieted down and stared at me. Why does everyone keep staring at me? Have I done something to upset these people? The loud talking turned to quieter hushes and whispers. I could feel their ghastly eyes watching every move of mine.
