Beneath The Talipot

The warm breeze caressed my cheeks,

Just like once your fingers had,

The sun rays warmed my skin,

Just like your smile had warmed my heart.

As I sat in the shadows,

Of the talipot that once housed our hearts,

All I could do was dream about the tomorrows,

That we'd together dreamt of.

Beneath this talipot, it all happened,

A heart was nourished,

Only to be broken,

Only to be broken.

Beneath this talipot,

You'd called me yours,

Before the night when,

It became now and then.

This age old talipot witnessed a moment,

That I'd never be able to forget,

Just like this never-ending summer,

The pain would never go away...
