Guess woke up bright and early on the morning of her birthday, quickly getting ready for the day ahead. It had been a while since she'd looked forward to her birthday. It had never felt right before like she was forgetting something - but now, she remembered what it was. Without that thought pestering her in the back of her mind, she relaxed. It wasn't long before her attention was required by someone knocking on the door and so she opened it to see Matt. He had his hands behind his back as a grin on his face.
"I seem to remember this being an important date somehow... I wonder why!"
"I have no idea why you'd think that; today is just like any other day isn't it?" Guess smiled with the corner of her lips playing along with him. She moved out of Matt's way and he came in, still hiding something behind him and putting it on her bed. With both his hands free he hugged her tightly as she wrapped her arms around his back.
     "Happy birthday, Guess!"
"Thanks, Matt," she replied just before he put his lips on hers. Once their lips parted, he passed her the small box he'd put on her bed before. It had a little note attached which read:

"Happy birthday, Guess! Thanks for being my gaming buddy and that something more. Love, Matt"

She looked up at him, giving him a sweet smile. "What is it?" she asked aloud as she sat down on the end of her bed, Matt beside her.
"Open it and find out!" Guess pulled the wrapping paper from the small rectangular box. Opening the box, there were some orange lensed goggles - just like Matt's, but with black frames.
"Holy shit! These are awesome! Where'd you find these!?" She lifted them out of the box and examined them.
"Remember in Japan? I've never seen goggles like mine in different colours before so I had to get them." Adjusting the straps, she pulled them over her head and let them hang around her neck.
Hugging him, she said, "Thank you." After pulling away she held both his cheeks and kissed him lovingly as Robin knocked on the door and came in followed by Mello.
"Hey, Matt! It's her birthday; learn to share!" Robin joked. Guess pulled away blushing.
"Okay, okay. I'll try," he smirked, still looking at Guess.
Robin pulled a gift from behind her back. "Happy birthday, Guess," she smiled handing it to her.
"Thank you!" Guess thanked as she began to open the little box. Inside was a small bracelet, it was a metal band and engraved in it was 'Player 1'. "That's so cool!" Guess put on the bracelet, "Thanks, Robin."
Robin just smiled and pulled up her sleeve to show she had an identical bracelet but it said 'Player 2'.
"You know what we're missing?" Mello asked, putting his index finger to his lips in thought.
"What?" Matt looked up at him.
      "Cake."
      "This is true! Let's go-"
"Wait," Mello said, holding Matt's shoulder and pushing back to sit on the bed. "Lastly, I downloaded something on your computer - well, Matt did anyway."
Guess looked up at him excitedly, "What is it?"
"Elder Scrolls 3: Bloodmoon," he smiled with the corner of his lips.
Guess gasped and then jumped off the bed, "YIISS!" she cheered, "I've been meaning to get that game for so long! Thanks, Mello!"
The four of them laughed. "Cake?" Matt asked, standing up.
"Cake," Guess confirmed as they left the room.

It was getting late, about 11 o'clock, when Robin decided now was the time to announce her departure. They were all sat on Guess's bed and had just finished helping Matt re-build his Magic the Gathering deck.
"Hey, um... Guys, there's something I have to tell you..." She spoke when there was a break in conversation. Everyone turned to look at her, signalling for her to continue. "I..." Tears welled in her eyes, "I- I'm sorry!" she couldn't hold them back, they rolled down her cheeks as if they were the last tears she would cry. Mello wrapped an arm around her shoulders but didn't know what to say as she pulled her knees into her chest. Matt and Guess exchanged glances, both without a clue on what she was apologising for. Robin quickly pulled herself together and stabled her crying so that she could talk, "I- I have to go-o," she hiccuped, "Forever. I c-can't come back. I'm so so-orry!" she cried, burying her head in her knees again.
"R-Robin, what do you mean?" Guess asked in shock.
"I have to go, the reason I'm not allowed to tell you. I'm so sorry, Guess. I had to ruin your birthday..."
"Well, when do you have to go?"
      "Today..." she confessed.
"Today?!" Mello cried, barely keeping his voice under control. "But you- I..." Mello struggled to find words.
"I would never in a million years leave you guys by choice; if I had the option, I wouldn't dream of going. I'm really sorry..." Robin wiped away the tears from her eyes.
Guess took a silent breath, calming herself. She took Matt's hand, "We'll give you two a minute to say your goodbyes then." She pulled a sad smile and left the room with Matt.
"Mello, I-" Robin was about to apologise but Mello's lips came crashing onto hers. She quickly got a grasp on what was happening and kissed back just as passionately, weaving her fingers through his hair. He pushed her back onto the bed and pulled out her ponytail, her now hair sprawled around her. His kisses trailed from her lips down her jaw, smirking as she gasped when he bit down lightly on her neck. "Mello-"
"I- I'm sorry, I uh..." Mello pulled away, a light blush dusting the tops of his cheeks.
"Don't apologise..." She smiled, "I'll never forget you."
"Robin... I..." Mello tried to understand what it was he wanted to say. "I don't want you to leave. You can't leave!" He said angrily but Robin could see the sadness in his eyes.
"I wish I could stay, I really do... But I may not be here physically, but I'll always be with you... Right-" she pointed to his heart, poking his chest, "here."
Mello smiled sadly, "You know... In this short time... I think I... I fell in love with you, Robin." Mello looked away from her.
Robin quickly wrapped her arms around him. "I didn't know it, to begin with, but I think I was in love with you from the very start," she giggled, tears still trickling down her cheeks, a mixture of sadness and joy within them. She pulled out of the embrace and gazed into his eyes for as long as she could bear. She swallowed down the lump in her throat. "Goodbye, Mello..."
"Goodbye..." he whispered, watching her every move as she left the room.
Robin closed the door behind her, leaving the corridor in darkness apart from the street lights coming from the window. Matt was leaning against the wall opposite the door, Guess had her face buried in his chest and her fists were clenched with handfuls of his top. He was gently stroking her hair, doing his best to comfort her. When he saw Robin, he tapped Guess on the shoulder. She pulled away from his chest, wiping away the tears from her eyes. Somehow she still managed a smile. "Your hair looks nice down," she said simply. She hugged Robin, "Goodbye, Robin."
       "Call me Enya. Enya Birthday."
       "Goodbye, Enya," she repeated.
Robin turned to Matt. "Look after her for me, will you?"
Matt smiled, "You got it." He gave her a friendly hug as Kensou came through the wall.
       "Farewell, Matt."
       "Farewell."
"Are you ready, Robin?" Kensou asked.
"No..." Robin sighed, "Let's go... Good luck out there."
"You too," Guess replied. "You'd better take care of her, Kensou."
       Kensou chuckled, "I will."
"Please, don't tell anyone I left. Let them realise on their own. Tell them you don't know when I left or where I went, okay?"
Matt and Guess nodded. Robin started to walk down the corridor, looking back. Mello left the room, the light coming from it making his eyes sparkle. He smiled sadly and waved. Robin watched until she could bear it no longer, looking ahead. It felt like dying. She had no clue on what was to come.
