My Dearest | JANTHONY

Chapter 2

We talk the whole way to backstage. I learn that Anthony is 24, cast as John Laurens and Philip Hamilton, and the funniest person I have ever met.

Anthony leads me through a door, and I see a bunch of dressing rooms, and people talking. Lin sees me and Anthony and his eyes widen. He walks to us, and introduces us.

"Everyone! This is Jasmine, she is going to be playing Peggy Schuyler, and Maria Reynolds." He says, wrapping his arm to around me.

"And this guy Is Anthony, playing John Laurens and Philip Hamilton." Lin continues.

Everyone smiles and waves. Somehow Daveed and Oak got here before Anthony and I.

"I didn't know that you two were a couple, but you're very cute together." Lin says with a smile.

I laugh and say, "We're not together." Anthony chuckles too.

"Actually we just met." Anthony adds on.

"Oh!" Lin says, laughing along.

"I'm Phillipa, and just saying, you guys would actually make a cute couple." A lady with long brown hair, and a soft voice says. I start blushing and chuckle.

A moment of silence falls. "Well, everyone introduce yourself to these two." Lin says, breaking the awkwardness. Everyone scatters the room, talking and meeting one another.

Phillipa and another woman, who looks older than me, with dark skin and black hair approach me. Phillipa smiles and says, "As you already know, I'm Phillipa, and she is," "Renee." The other woman says.

"We're your Schuyler sisters! I play Eliza, and Renee plays Angelica!" Phillipa exclaims. I smile and squeal. "I'm so excited!" Renee smiles and says, "We're going to be so close! I just know it!"

I go around the room and meet everyone. The cast is so funny and kind. I just can't wait to perform with them!

Eventually Renee, Philipa, and I get to check out our dressing room, since we're sharing one. As we put down our stuff and look around, I hear a knock on the door.

"Come in!" Phillipa says. I don't pay attention to who it is, I want to get my things settled.

"Anthony? What's up?" Renee asks. I turn around when I hear her say Anthony's name.

"Hey, just wanted to apologize again to Jasmine for bumping into her in the hall." He says.

"Oh, it's fine." I say, smiling.

"Thanks, I'll see you around?" He asks, leaving. I nod and give him a thumbs up. He leaves awkwardly.

"Okay, my theories are comfirmed. He totally likes you." Phillip says, grabbimg my arm.

I laugh and say, "I don't think so, and even if he did, I'm not ready to have another relationship. My last one didn't end well."

Confused, Renee asks, "What happened?"

"He cheated on me." I say, playing with my hands. Phillipa and Renee both give me side hugs.

"That guys in my past, though. But it's still hard to start another relationship. You guys understand, right?" I ask.

Phillipa and Renee both nod. Plus, I can't like I guy I just met, I think to myself. Right?
