Chapter 4

It's a few weeks after opening night. Everything has been amazing. Nothing but good reviews about the show, and Anthony and I are doing great. Life is going great.

I walk into. Pippa, Renee, and I's dressing room. I see them both on their phones. "Hey Jas." Pippa says, looking up at me with a smile.

"Hey. Ready for the show?" I ask, putting my purse and coat down.

"What do you mean?" Renee asks.

"My boyfriend is going to see the show for the first time. He's been out of town for a while, so this is the first time he could see it." Pippa explains.

Renee smiles and says, "Well, you're going to do great." As she rubs her shoulder.

"Yes!" I add on, so Pippa can get more encouragement.

"Thanks so much you guys, Steven won't care if I mess up, but I do want to do my best for him." Pippa says.

"You will!" I exclaim.

Pippa smiles, gets up and gives Renee, then me a hug. "Well, I'm going to get ready. I know we have time, but might as well." Renee says.

"I guess I will too." I say.

"Well, then I will too!" Pippa laughs.

We all get ready for the beginning song. I just roam around backstage, and I run into Anthony.

"Hey!" I say, excited to see him.

He gives me a kiss on the cheek and says, "You seem excited."

"I guess I am. I'm really in love with this show, and performing." I explain.

"I do too. I never want to leave." Anthony says.

"I'm going to go get ready, see ya." Anthony continues, walking towards his dressing room.

I give him a small wave, and go back to find Pippa and Renee. Today's a great day so far.

After the show, I walk out to the wings. Then, I feel a hand on my shoulder. It's Phillipa. "Want to come meet Steven?" She whispers.

I squeel, "Yes!"

We walk out to the back of the audience, to see Renee and who I assume is Phillipa's boyfriend talking.

Phillipa and I approach them, and Philllip introduces me. "Steven this is Jasmine. Jasmine, this is Steven."

"Nice to meet you." I say, shaking his hand. "As to you too." He replies.

After a long conversation about the musical, I head backstage first. I'm soon out sight, when someone grabs my hand. I turn to see my ex-boyfriend, Mason, with a smirk.

"Mason? What are you doing here?" I ask, ripping my hand away.

"I came to say I'm sorry Jasmine. For cheating. I still love you." He says, stepping closer to me.

I take a step back. "It's too late, leave me alone." I hiss, walking away.

Before I can out of reach, he grabs my waist and pulls me towards him. Struggling to get out of his grip, I yell, "I said leave me alone-"

I'm interupted by Anthony's voice saying, "She said leave her alone." I turn to see him, with Daveed and Oak behind him.

"Go." Oak says. Then, Daveed makes a shooing motion with his hand. Mason let's go and stares down Anthony. He just glares at him back.

I step towards Anthony and watch Mason walk out of the theatre. "Whatever!" He yells as he opens the door.

"Thank you guys so much!" I exclaim, hugging each of them.

"I was scared he was going to kidnapp you or something." Daveed says, widening his eyes.

"Me too." I laugh.

"Who was that anyway?" Oak asks.

"My stupid ex-boyfriend. He cheated on me, and now he's trying to get me back. He pathetic." I say, rolling my eyes.

"Well I'm just glad your safe. Let's go." Oak says, walking back with Daveed.

I turn back to Anthony who looks confused. "That guy has no chance of getting you back, right?" He asks.

"Of course not!" I exclaim.

Anthony smiles and says, "Good."

We walk back with his arm around my waist. I feel safe when I'm with him. I can't say I felt that with anyone else.
