Chapter 11

Today is Anthony's first day back. Lin says he can't fire him, because it's wrong, and maybe we could make up. But Lin was wrong about that.

I walk into the theatre, with my long tan coat, my black nilons, and my hair parted at the side wet from the rain.

As I walk in, I bump into Anthony. This should be fun.

"Hello Anthony." I mutter, trying to be as serious as I can.

Anthony looks releived to see me and starts up, "Hey Jas, look-"

I cut him off by saying, "You're not allowed to call me that anymore."

"Jasmine?" Anthony asks, looking into my eyes, with tears in his.

He tries to hold my hand, but I rip it away and start rushing to my dressing room. "Jasmine!" Anthony calls after me. I don't listen, I just keep fast walking to my dressing room.

Once I reach my dressing room, Pippa and Renee are in there talking. I shut the door and lean against it, catching my breath. "You okay?" Renee asks.

"Not really. I just had to fast walk away from Anthony and now I'm out of breath. I'm so out of shape." I laugh.

They both laugh with me until Pippa says, "I think you two should talk about it. It may be hard, but who knows. You two might get back together."

"You can't be serious. I can't do that!" I whisper yell.

"I don't know, Jas. You obviously still love him." Renee points out.

Crap.

I sigh and ask, "Is it that obvious?"

Renee and Pippa both laugh and say, "Only to your bestfriends."

We all laugh and talk more until it's time to get ready. I quickly do my Peggy hair and makeup and get my dress on for the first song.

I have to dance with Anthony in 'Helpless', so I'm kind of dreading it. No matter how much I still love Anthony, he cheated on me, and that's something I'll never forget.

The beginning notes play for 'Helpless', and Anthony-or, John Laurens, takes my hand to start dancing. I don't look at him during the whole dance. It's too hard.

"Jasmine I'm sorry, okay?" Anthony whispers, trying not to move his lips so the audience won't notice he's talking.

I only stare blank faced at him. I manage to get through the whole song without blurting I love him.

I get through the while entire show, avoiding deep conversations with Anthony. I still love him, a lot. I just don't think I can forgive him.

I gather my things and walk out of the theatre, kind of depressed. As I open the back door, someone walks right into me. "I'm so sorry!" I say, getting up.

I look up to see someone I never thought I'd have to see again.
