Letter 1
Dear Y/N,
Its been over two weeks since you've left. Everyone is starting to get back on track, surprisingly even me. Don't get me wrong I still think about you every day. I like to sit at your favorite spot under that huge tree, I really do see why you loved that spot so much. Anyways, I've started to talk to Minho and Athena again. I was really angry with them at first, they bloody left you in the maze to die! Fortunately for them, they explained to me that you had a plan. Of course you did you shank, it's just too bad it didn't exactly work out in the end..
Anyways, I've got to update you. The map room is so empty without you anymore. No one has touched your things, everything is still where it was before so don't worry your pretty little head over that okay? Of course it was under my orders, in case you were wondering. Also, we built a grave for you. It's where I'm writing this letter right now, your favorite spot. Oh and in case you're wondering, I plan on writing letters to you everyday. Alby seemed to be okay with me taking a break to visit you everyday but who knows what he'll do in the future. You know how he is with freeloaders. Anyways, back to the topic. The discovery you made about the maze sections opening up in a pattern, its true! The runners have started going back in the maze about a week ago and the predicted section is always open. You never fail to surprise me Y/N you know that? In the future, this sequence might even save us! Unfortunately, Alby decided to shut down the brains, no one is smart enough or motivated enough for the job. Ever since the incident, it feels like people are content with staying in the maze forever! It's sad but without proof of a way out, it's tough to convince everyone that one day escape is a possibility you know? Okay, enough of the sad talk. Time to fill you up on some gossip going around! I heard from Diana that Jeff and Eleanor have somewhat of a thing together! I kind of saw it coming, I mean they're both med-jacks. I see them together a lot too and they look really nice together. It really makes me wish you were still here. I miss you so much Y/N, during the first week you were gone, I was a complete mess. In fact I was such a mess that Alby had to throw me into the pit for two nights! I've had some closure now though, I feel like I'm really talking to you by writing to you like this. Anyways love, I hear Alby calling us, it's greenie day! I wonder if it'll be a girl or boy. Until next time, I love you.Newt
- Y/N Perspective -
I awoke in a different room with a heavy headache. I looked down at my stomach expecting to see the gauze but to my surprise, it was no longer there. There was only a slight scar left behind. How long have I been here? I quickly sat up, regretting doing so as my head pounded. It felt like i had been drugged. I looked around the room, there were glass walls this time surrounding me. Past the glass, I saw people in lab coats, some typing and some watching what looked like security screens. On their screens I saw a very familiar field with a forest covering a good chunk of the filed. There were people and they were dirty, like they haven't showered in weeks. Wait a minute is that.. I squinted, trying to get a closer look. That's the shucking glade! My mouth dropped in astonishment as my stomach flipped. A man stood not far from where I could see and I tried to read the words on his lab coat pocket. It read W.C.K.D. I furrowed my eyebrows thinking. The acronym was so familiar. It finally hit me, after three months in the maze, Minho and Athena found the initials engraved on one of the maze walls and later, we found that all the labels on our supplies that came up the box had the same initials. It had always been W.C.K.D. I quickly took in all the information, trying to think of a way to utilize it for an escape plan. Thinking suddenly became too painful with the headache I already had so instead, I tried to look closer into one of the screens outside he glass walls to see if I could find Newt. I was worried about him. They all think I'm dead, I realized. I shook myself out of shock and quickly continued to try and find an escape. Surely the people would see me through the glass so I tried to lay low. I looked around the room and as I slowly turned my head, I realized there was no door. The room just had four, solid glass walls, a ceiling that wasn't very high, glass floors and the bed I awoke in. Surely if there's a way in, there's a way out. I started pounding on the glass as hard as I could with my fists. My headache grew but I didn't care. None if the scientists even flinched. Sound proof and punch proof huh? I continued to pound on the windows hoping somebody would notice me flailing myself at the walls and fortunately somebody did. It was the same woman again with the nasty smile. She stopped at the wall that faced the front of my bed and pressed a button. Suddenly, a small area in the glass, the size of a door, slid open and I took no time to hesitate as I bolted towards the opening. The woman was calmer than I expected she would be especially, seeing me try to escape and all but I assumed she was calm because she saw this coming. I proceeded to escape anyways, I didn't have anything to lose. I ran as fast as I could and as my hand reached for the opening, I felt a needle pierce into my neck. I fell to the ground, and felt the woman pushing the liquid in the syringe into my neck.
"Her body is starting to reject the drug, Ava, that's why she keeps on waking up so soon. This is supposed to keep her out for at least three days, its only been a day since the last dosage and she's already awake." The woman that had placed the needle in my neck talked to another woman whom I assumed was Ava. I lay vulnerably on the ground, I was able to move but I felt weak, like my body decided to go to sleep. my head continued to pound and my vision was blurry but my hearing was perfectly fine. An unfamiliar face came into my blurry vision, she had blonde hair tied up into a professional looking bun, pale skin and red lips. She had blindingly white attire. This must be Ava, she looks important, I thought.
"She is an essential for our second trial, do what you have to do, just make sure she doesn't die or escape. The maze trials are almost over." Ava looked at me concerned, but concerned in a way that I was like a broken object. I immediately felt a strong disliking towards her but I couldn't retaliate with muscles that felt like noodles.
"Fine, I guess we'll have to amp up her dosage then." The woman with the nasty smile sighed and suddenly, my eyelids gave in as they closed, leaving me with nothing but darkness yet again.
