- Y/N's Perspective -
The woman was in and out of my room every hour now, injecting me, then leaving. My body was rejecting the drug faster and faster. I tried pretending that the drugs they put in me worked because to be quite frank, having a woman stick a needle into my arm every single hour was annoying and my arm ached. The pretending wasn't working, they were monitoring my brain so they knew if I was faking or not. I sat up, waking up from a small nap. The drug was more like a weak sleeping pill now. I sighed as I watched the woman open the door in the glass with the same old briefcase.
"You know those aren't working anymore right?" I said, looking at her briefcase as I raised an eyebrow at her.
"You remember what these do?" She asked, surprised. "Your brain truly is magnificent." She mumbled under her breath, trying to make sure I wouldn't hear, which if course, I did hear. I sighed once again, preparing my arm for her. There were two guards standing at the door, they looked strong and intimidating so I figured there was no point in fighting.
"Don't worry Y/N, we saved the strongest drug for last, this should keep you out until the maze trials are over." She stuck the needle into my arm before I could reply. The last one huh. Finally, I thought, rolling my eyes as I felt the fluid enter my body. I felt the same dizziness as my head started to spin. I watched the woman leave, closing the door behind her. My vision was blurry but I could still see. I decided to watch the people outside the glass walls. A familiar woman walked into a big metal door, she wore all white, her blonde hair was slicked back into a bun and I recognized the familiar shade of red lipstick. Ava, I remembered. I watched her as she spoke to some men wearing black and holding guns. It looked like she was showing them what to do, like they were rehearsing for something. I continued to watch her as she walked into another glass room and spoke to a screen, like she was filming a video. The men wearing black suddenly started shooting at the people in lab coats. One man shot at the glass wall where the door was. I wanted to scream, I was so confused but my body felt so weak and my eyelids started to become heavier with every breath I took. Everything seemed to be in slow motion as I watched the people in lab coats fall to their deaths. Shattered pieces of glass flew everywhere but for some reason, no shots were fired in my direction. Before another thought could enter my mind, I drifted off into a deep sleep.- Newt's Perspective -
I woke up in my hammock with chills that ran down my spine. It was already the afternoon and it looked like it was going to be a rainy one. I looked down at my chest where my journal lay. I picked it up and flipped through it. Only 3 letters huh. I thought, shaking my head in disappointment. I could've done more for her. My mind quickly changed thoughts as I looked around. The glade was in the same disastrous state as it was the last night. Flashes of images ran through my mind as I remembered the Griever's taking away Alby. First they take my memories, then the love of my life and then my best friend. What more do they want? I shook my head in disbelief, quickly put my boots on and jogged towards the pit where Thomas was. Minho quickly joined me.
"Afternoon, Newt." He greeted without looking at me. I sighed and nodded back st him as my response. It was a gloomy day I for one was tired but ready to get the hell out. Thomas was already awake when we arrived.
"You ready?" Thomas asked, he looked like he hadn't slept at all last night.
"Alby and Y/N didn't die for no reason, Tommy. Let's finish what we started. I replied, nodding at Thomas and pulling him out of the pit. He looked confused at the mention of Y/N's name, I decided I would save that story for him another day.
"Hey! What do you shanks think you're doing?" Gally angrily walked in our direction, glaring at Thomas.
"Its been a night in the pit without food, Gally. I know you want to banish him but let's get the shank some food first." Minho defended Thomas.
"Banish him? You think I'm going to let this guy out in the maze again? He already survived a night in the maze, there's no point to a banishment. Thomas is coming with me." Gally grabbed Thomas' arms and dragged him towards the maze doors where two poles stood. Four boys were guarding them and as I got a closer look, my eyes widened as I saw a boy tying Teresa to one of the poles.
"What do you think you're bloody doing Gally?!" I shouted after him.
"It's an offering." He replied, without looking back as Thomas struggled to free himself from Gally's grip. An offering? I walked towards Minho and whispered in his ear.
"Go find the others and prepare our things, we're leaving earlier than I anticipated." Minho nodded in agreement and jogged towards the homestead. I took another quick glance at what Gally was doing. As I walked closer, I realized he was tying Thomas up to one of the poles. A couple of gladers surrounded them, watching what was going to happen. Shit, we need to hurry, I thought as I realized what Gally had planned.
