-Alice-

I was heading to potions with Lily and Severus when James and Sirius appeared from behind a door. "what do you want" Severus sneered. James and Sirius just smirked.

"We would like to talk to Alice Snivellus" James said as he grabbed my arm and walked me around the door. I heard Sirius saying that Lily and Severus should just go ahead and I would be down soon, I scowled.

"Let go of me" I hissed as James pushed me into a free chair in the middle of an unused classroom. He just smirked and stood in front of me. Sirius came in and smiled down at me.

"Now, would you mind telling us how you knocked off the animagus changing spell" he asked. I just stared into his eyes.

"What the hell are you on about" I said casually.

"We know that dog was you Alice" James said.

"What dog, I have no idea what you're on about" I said convincingly. They obviously believed me because they both gave each other annoyed looks before they released me. I smiled and walked out of the classroom finding I only had one minute to get to class. I changed into the dog and sprinted down the halls. Once there I changed back and walked into the classroom taking a seat beside Lily and Severus. Slughorn walked in almost as soon as I was seated. We started the lesson and about five minutes in the two boys came in puffed looking. They gave me a curious look.

"Ten points from Gryffindor for your lateness, now get seated please boys" Slughorn called out. Once he started his lesson again I turned in my chair and smirked at the boys before turning back and focusing on the potion we were supposed to make.

"What did they want" Lily and Severus asked once we began our potions and were allowed to talk.

"They wanted to know how I knocked off some spell that they put on me" I said casually.

"What spell" Severus asked curiously.

"An animagus revealing spell" I said, they both stared at me, "but it wasn't me they put the spell on" I added hastily. Lily turned back to her potion but Severus gave me a lingering look. He just shrugged and went back to his potion as well. By the end of the lesson our table had three perfectly made potions.

"Now can everyone see the perfect potions Miss Evans, Miss Dumbledore and Mr Snape have made" Slughorn made an unnecessary comment about our potions. They were after all the only potions actually left standing, the smouldering remains of the other potions lay around them. I escaped the classroom quickly and waited in the corridor for Lily and Severus who were in the classroom still packing up.

"What have we got next Lil's and Sev" I asked. I decided to start using nicknames to save an extra second of talking. Lily and Severus looked slightly taken aback but smiled anyway.

"Well we have transfiguration but it's only Gryffindor" Lily answered.

"Yeah, I have Charms" Severus said. We parted ways and walked to our specified classes. We entered and the lesson started five minutes later. As we were beginning the spell James and Sirius turned to me.

"Since when have you been friends with Snivellus" Sirius asked.

"Yeah, why would you be friends with a stinking Slytherin" James added. I rolled my eyes and turned back to my desk which I was practicing on.

"Since when did my social life have an affect on you guys" I answered their questions with one of my own. They didn't talk to me for the rest of the lesson and I smiled when the end of the lesson came and they just walked out without a word. I was thinking about all of the pranks that I could do on the boys. I was so deep in thought that I didn't hear Severus come up behind me.

"What got you so deep in thought" he asked. I jumped at his voice but turned and smiled when I saw it was only him.

"Just thinking of awesome pranks I could play on Potter and Black" I answered simply. He grinned mischievously and I just laughed. "I thought that we could transfigure them into animals with a spell that can't be released for a few hours" I said with an evil grin. We walked down the hall where Lily caught up with us.

"Sorry guys, I had to ask professor McGonagall something" She said. I laughed and we walked down to the hall in high spirits. That was until we bumped into someone. I began to pick up their books but Lily scowled and I knew who they were automatically. I dropped the few books I had picked up onto the floor and stood up straightening out my robes. I looked up into their smirking faces and scowled.

"What do you want Black and Potter" I yelled frustratedly.

"It wasn't my fault you weren't paying attention to where you were going" Black snapped. I sidestepped around them and walked off with Lily and Severus in tow.

"Arrrrr, why do they have to be so annoying" I yelled. My sudden outburst made the first year's jump with fright and scurry off. I stormed outside and to the lake where I sat down and Severus and Lily sat down next to me and put their arms around my shoulders.

"You know what I say to that" Lily said, "There are some people in this world that will never leave you alone, but something good will always come out of it" I rolled my eyes.

"Dad will just quote that exact thing when I tell him" I said with a laugh. Lily and Severus smiled. We stayed there for most of the afternoon. When it came time for dinner I walked up with Lily. Severus said he had to go early because the Slytherins didn't approve of him being friends with us. This made me roll my eyes. When we entered I glanced at Severus who was in a deep conversation with a Slytherin.

"Good to see you aren't hanging out with the mudblood and blood traitor" The Slytherin said. I was very good at lip reading because of all my pranks. I growled before turning away and starting a conversation with Lily, Marlene and Alice. That's when Remus came up and tapped both me and Lily on the shoulder.

"Professor Dumbledore would like to see both of you" He said.

"Thanks Remus" Lily and I said in sync. We stood up and walked down the table. I could hear Sirius and James muttering about why Remus could get us to be friends.

"It's because he is actually decent" I said as we walked past them. Lily high fived me and we walked all the way up to Dad's office. I said the password and we went up the moving staircase. I barged into the office and Lily followed slowly behind.

"DAD" I yelled through the study. He came out through one of the side doors and gestured for us to follow. We walked into the comfort of my little living area. I sat down on one of the chairs and gestured for Lily to follow.

"I wanted to talk about living areas" Dad said. I looked at him horrified. I couldn't possibly move into the Gryffindor common room.

"We want to try Ali dear" Dad said. Lily looked quite happy but I stayed horrified. Lily saw my expression and put on her puppy dog face.

"Please at least try Ali" She said. I rolled my eyes and reluctantly nodded. Dad stood up and gestured for us to follow. We came to the Gryffindor common room door and the fat lady smiled at me.

"Hello dear, what brings you to the common room" She asked curiously.

"Dad wants me to try and move in here" I muttered. She smiled warmly at me and waited for Dad to say the password. He did and before she opened she asked me to visit more often.

"I have missed your company Ali" She said before opening the door. I froze as a cold wind swept over me. Dad saw my worry and took my arm. The warmth of his hand spread through my body and I took a few reluctant steps in. I looked around to see the red and gold of Gryffindor cover the room. There were flowers on the mantle piece and a warm fire blazing in the corner. Dad slowly let go of my arm and I felt the coldness threatening to overtake me but I fought against it. she said it wasn't my fault. Katie would not have wanted for me to do this to myself. I let out a long shaky breath and walked around the room.

"I think i'm ready" I said with as much confidence as I could muster.
