The time away from the Marauders proved to be a good space of time to spend more time with the girls. Although we shared a dorm and many classes with each other I found I spent a lot of time with the guys and sometimes neglected my relationship with the girls. This weekend brought a rare trip to Hogsmeade, something I was very excited for. Especially seeing as I was sharing this one with Lily, Alice and Marlene.
"You guys ready to go?" Lily asked as she stood by the door, a bright grin on her face.
"Just a second, someone's stolen my left shoe" Marlene's muffled voice said from beneath her bed. I grinned as I watched Alice stand behind Lily waving a shoe in the air.
"Have you guys seen m... oh" She said staring Alice down.
"Oh sorry, were you looking for this?" Alice said smiling innocently.
"I hate you so much A, you better give me back my shoe this second or i'll... I don't know what i'll do" She said continuing her staring contest with Alice.
"Think fast" Alice casually said, throwing the shoe directly at Marlene. We all laughed as it hit her directly in the chest.
"Oh, ok, that's one way I guess" She said picking it up off the floor and putting it on. "Done, let us be off my friends" She said pushing past us all, making sure to shove Alice over as she made her way down the staircase.
"Ow, Marlene hit's hard" Alice said rubbing her arm. I laughed along with Lily as we all went downstairs.
"Can we hurry up" Marlene said grabbing my arm.
"Well, we would have been gone by now if you hadn't of lost your shoe" I exclaimed rolling my eyes.
"For your information, Alice took it and hid it from me" She corrected, skipping down the hall.
"Point made" I agreed following along. We all past Filch who stared me down before making our way out of the gates and into Hogsmeade.
"So, what are we going to do first?" Lily said smiling as we all walked down the crowded street.
"BUTTERBEER" Alice and Marlen both yelled at the same time. I made eye contact with Lily and we both shrugged nodding our heads. "Yay" Marlene cheered pulling us along. When we got inside we managed to snatch a booth by the corner and sat two on either side. Alice and Marlene were seated beside each other and Lily and I sat opposite.
"I'll order" Alice offered standing up and walking out of site.
"Well, isn't this just lovely" Marlene said grinning.
"You're only happy because you're getting butterbeer" I pointed out making her shrug.
"And, I'm getting it with my best friends" She smiled brightly.
"This isn't the time and place to be getting all overly appreciative" Lily said raising her eyebrows as Marlene sighed in defeat.
"I was just trying to do what you said Lily, and lighten up a bit and be more happy with life, and when I do it, you have to point out that 'it's not the right time'" She said, her voice getting high at the end to imitate Lily.
"That is so not what I sound like" Lily complained.
"Oh, it so is, how would you even know how accurate my impression of you is if you don't even experience hearing your voice" Marlene argued.
"Because unlike you I listen to everything and process it all, so I have heard my voice before because I try to focus on what i'm saying when I say it" Lily replied easily turning the topic to Marlene as I was sure she'd respond to the comment about her not listening.
"What do you mean I don't listen, i'm very good at that" She deflected frowning at Lily.
"I have to agree with Lily, you're pretty bad at listening" Alice said, joining in as she sat back down at the table.
I am not" Marlene whined stomping her foot underneath the table.
"Marl's, you just need to agree with it, it's one against three" I said shaking my head as she pouted at us.
"I will never surrender" She replied folding her arms
"Well, your loss" I shrugged as we got our butterbeers.
"Hooray" Marlene smiled drinking half of hers in the first ten seconds.
"Slow down Marl's, i've never seen someone so obsessed with something as much as you and butterbeer" Lily said. I just rolled my eyes at Marlene before taking a sip of my own drink.
Once we had all finished our drinks (Which didn't take that long) we ventured back outside to go and stock up on our sugar supplies. I bought lots of sugar quills, something Lily disapproved against.
"You shouldn't be eating in class Ali" She scolded.
"Come on Lil's, lighten up a bit, these are great for the energy I need to get through History of Magic" I said. It was completely true. History of Magic was my least favourite class as Professor Bins never stopped talking about Goblin riots in his monotone voice. It could make anyone fall asleep. Instead of arguing against me Lily just walked away making me smirk.
'Another Argument won'
"Are you coming Ali? We're going to the bookstore, Lil's says there's a book she wants" Alice called to me.
"Yep, just let me pay for these and i'll be out in a minute" I said walking up to the counter. Once I had paid for my sugar quills I went outside and walked with the girls to the bookstore.
"Ugg, I really don't like this store" Marlene complained.
"Deal with it" Lily said walking inside. I followed her inside leaving Alice and Marlene outside. Lily picked up the book she wanted moving forwards to the counter. I scanned over the books in the row I was in but none jumped out at me so I just walked back outside.
"This was a fun day, but I think I have to call it quits, my legs are sore" Marlene sighed.
"You didn't even walk that far" I said rolling my eyes again.
"Just because your fit" She huffed.
"Ok girls, come on, at least you had fun" Lily smiled.
"Yeah" I said smiling back.
"Oh, so how come when she is overly appreciative you all agree but when I try your all like 'not the time and place' hmmm" Marlene asked rounding on the three of us.
"Because I know the time and place" Lily laughed running ahead.
"She's right you know" Alice said.
"Sure, sure" Marlene huffed before walking ahead. I was really going to miss this when the boys apologised. I'd just have to do it more often.
