-Alice-

The next morning I was woken by Dad who was knocking on my door.

"Come in" I grumbled. It was only seven in the morning. Dad came in as though it he had the best sleep of his life just like every morning. This was something that I didn't have, I was not a morning person.

"Morning Ali" He chimed, clearly happy at my lack of enthusiasm.

"Morning" I groaned. I could tell that he had news to tell me.

"I have some news" he said and my suspicion about him having news was proved correct "You are moving class" he said. This came as no surprise at all. Dad had put me in the Ravenclaw class because I was smart like them but I am now assuming I am going into Gryffindor class. Dad always believed that I should have gone into the Gryffindor class but I was put in Ravenclaw because they did everything faster and more efficiently than Gryffindor's. The Ravenclaws bullied me though and called me a nerd because I was top of their class. So what if I was the smartest person in the entire of fifth year.

"That's great news" I grinned. I was glad to be rid of the people that bullied me.

"You will learn with your house but the teachers might bump you up a level and get you to do the Ravenclaw work" he said. This made me groan a little but I was still happy. Gryffindors were better than Ravenclaws when it came to having fun in class. "Here is your timetable for today and you should know your way to all these classrooms" He smiled as I groaned. It was time for class again wasn't it. I took the timetable to see that I had double transfiguration and then double potions before charms and defence. I got up and got ready for the day before heading down to the great hall. As I was walking past the second corridor I heard hushed voices.

"Ok, so Remus, you cast the spell and Sirius, Peter and I are going to press the button when the time comes and all the food will be transformed into its undeveloped form" I ran away from there and entered the great hall. I walked up to the teacher's table and sat there not eating. Dad was eating though and I think this was a prank he didn't know about.

"and what might you be smiling about Ali" He asked

"You'll find out, there's a pranker in this crowd this morning" I smiled and Dad just chuckled. At that exact moment, all the food turned into it's form before it was made. The bread became wheat, the chicken became chickens and the great hall was filled with a mixture of sounds including live animals and screaming. I saw the four boys grinning mischievously and I personally thought they could be more discrete as Mcgonagall's line of vision wandered around the hall until it finally landed on the boys her mouth forming a thin line. I just laughed and ran out of the hall and to the next classroom. I entered and laid my stuff out on the table to finish an essay I had due tomorrow. When I had finished the homework I packed my stuff away and sat back in my chair.

"Good morning Ali, nice to see you here on time" Mcgonagall entered the room closely followed by the class. Lily came and sat down next to me quickly followed by three other girls I assumed were her friends.

"You didn't tell me you were coming into this class" She whispered as Professor Mcgonagall talked about the spell we would be learning today.

"I only found out this morning" I whispered back. Mcgonagall told us off for talking in her class so Lily and I stopped talking and concentrated on the spell we had to learn. It was just trying to transfigure a book into a bird. I had already done this a week ago in my old class. When everyone was starting McGonagall came up and handed me a teapot and asked me to try transfigure it into a toy elephant. Everyone looked at me weirdly but I just ignored them and tried to perform the spell. After five tries I successfully transfigured my box and earned ten points for Gryffindor. People muttered around the class and a boy even said that they betted I wouldn't even be able to transfigure what they were doing. I asked McGonagall for a book to prove that I could do what they were doing and on the first try I waved my wand and a small bird started to fly around the classroom. By the end of that class people were talking about me as I had successfully transfigured my table into a chicken. Some people are just weird, it's not that impressive, other people have made things that use transfiguration ten times the amount I can do.

"How did you do that" Lily asked as she caught up with me. I just shrugged.

"It's not that difficult" She stared at me in disbelief. I couldn't wait until we got to transfigure humans, that would be fun. The rest of the day went like that. Each class, I topped above everyone, people would talk and then I would go to my next class. By the end of the day I was tired of people staring at me in the corridors. It was just stupid. I decided that some peace and quiet would be nice so I went and sat down by the beech tree beside the lake to start my homework. It was the only place quiet enough that I could think properly but my mind was elsewhere. I just wished people would leave me alone and treat me like a normal person instead of whispering behind my back and pointing at me as I walked through the corridors. It happened when I was adopted by Dad as well. Students pointed at me and whispered about what could've happened to my actual parents. I was driven into insanity by this and I hoped this wasn't the start of another crazy faze. That's what Dad had called it and it had happened several times. I couldn't concentrate on anything so I packed up and went to dinner early. Once I entered the hall all talking stopped and suddenly whispers broke out. Everyone's voices suddenly clouded my mind and all the whispering surrounded me. I tried to scream or call out but I couldn't hear myself over the voices that filled my mind, the constant muttering. I fell to my knees as all the strength I had left me. More muttering came around me and then left just as quickly. I became aware of my voice and the deadly silence of the hall. I picked myself up, brushed myself off and walked up to the teachers table. The teachers were still talking and pretty much acting as though nothing had happened. I told the teachers that I preferred if they ignored my crazy fazes, they quickly obliged.

"Another Crazy Faze" Dad whispered conversationally.

"Yep" I answered before eating my soup. All eyes were upon me but I didn't mind anymore. They were more curious now when they had seen the teachers attitude towards my small fit like thing on the floor. I just waved them off and continued to eat. Talk eventually began again and when I was done I walked up to the north tower to stargaze but I didn't realise the figure that followed me.

"Beautiful aren't they" a person said from behind me. I was slightly startled and I whipped around only to find Remus Lupin. I turned back to the stars and we stared at them in a comfortable silence for some time.

"What was that about earlier" he turned to me and asked politely.

"I had one of my Crazy Fazes" I answered simply. This was a topic that I was ok to talk about and it was kinda like a weight off my shoulders.

"What was with the teachers, it was as though they didn't care or didn't see a thing" he said conversationally.

"Yeah, I asked the teachers not to pay any attention to them because I didn't want to draw more attention to myself. I only have them because of people talking and whispering about me" I muttered. It was fairly annoying to have people talk about you when you didn't know what they are discussing and calling you. I looked down at my watch to see it was already one minute past curfew.

"We've gotta go, after same time same place next week" I questioned. I saw Remus curse to himself but nod in return of my question.

"See you in class tomorrow" he asked. I nodded now before waving goodbye and sprinting downstairs. I transformed into the snowy white dog and bolted through the castle to Dad's office. I was supposed to be there ten minutes ago to discuss with Dad about how my day was and how my first time in the Gryffindor class was. I mentally cursed myself as I ran through the corridors to get to the office. Dad had his chat and didn't scold me for being late. He just had the normal twinkle in his eye and a slight smile. I went to sleep, ready for the next day.
