Once the week was finally at an end I took to collapsing on the the Gryffindor common room floor.
"Finally!" Sirius rejoiced as he took a place on one of the large couches. Everyone joined him lying down around one of the large fireplaces.
"They weren't as bad as I thought they might be" Lily said to everyone. I heard Marlene groan loudly.
"They were just as bad as I thought they would be, so many questions" She said covering her face as she screamed quietly into her hands. I just rolled my eyes laughing slightly.
"Such a dramatic" I scoffed. We all sat quietly for a minute before James spoke.
"Schools almost over" He said nonchalantly.
"James" Remus growled angrily as he rubbed his face.
"What, i'm just stating a fact Moony, school is almost finished now, it'll be weird not being all together in school" He said shrugging his shoulders as he smiled at Remus.
"Well, it's not like we aren't going to see each other ever again" Alice added.
"Yeah that's fair, also, it feels like half of us are moving in with each other" Lily said grinning at James. They had recently just revealed that they were buying a small flat to move into together. That was announced after Remus and I told the group we would be buying a house a small ways a way from the dragon sanctuary to move into together. Alice had told everyone ages ago that she would be going to live with her longtime boyfriend, Frank Longbottom, who was a year older than us and had already found a home for the two, to which he was living in already. Marlene was still with her muggle boyfriend who had recently discovered her magic when he accidentally caught her angrily setting a newspaper on fire with her wand, we were told that he was shocked, but not shocked enough to leave her. They were due to buy a house once he turned 18 and was out of school.
"Not all of us have a significant other to move in with" Peter said grumpily.
"Its okay Pete, not everyone finds someone they like immediately" I said patting his knee. He just pouted back.
"Well, who wants to maybe go outside and play a game of quidditch or something to relieve the pent up stress we all evidently feel" James said.
"Yeah, why not" Marlene said standing up from her position. We all followed her lead as we exited the common rooms. I summoned my broom as did James, Sirius and Verity. We had discovered that Verity was amazing at quidditch when she helped us train for the last quidditch match we were ever going to play at Hogwarts.
"I missed going on my broom for the entire month I had to study" I sighed happily as my broom came flying into my hand. "Let's do this"
---
Okay, who agrees with girls vs boys" I said loudly to the group.
"That would mean the girls have an extra member" Sirius said pouting.
"Well, think of it this way, you both play quidditch a lot, Verity and I play it a lot, then we have the others who, how should I say this, aren't the greatest on brooms, so it shouldn't be that unfair" I said shrugging.
"It's still unfair though" James said crossing his arms.
"How about, I just sit it out and one of the girls can join the boys team" Remus said standing in between us all.
"But then you wouldn't be able to play and that would also be unfair" Sirius said.
"I don't think i'll be that sad by not playing, quidditch is definitely not for me, i'll just observe" Remus said as he already began walking towards the stands to show that he wasn't backing out of his plan.
"Fine, which girl is joining our team then?" Sirius asked.
"I'll go" Lily volunteered.
"Okay, so Verity and Alice can be chasers as they have better balance on their brooms, Marlene, you'll do good as a keeper and i'll be seeker" I said handing out all the parts. They all nodded. I gave everyone a thumbs up before we all mounted our brooms and took off.
"WE'RE GOING TO WIN" Sirius yelled.
"IN YOUR DREAMS" I yelled back smirking at him. I kept my eye out watching closely for the snitch.
"Hi Alice" Lily said from behind me making me almost fall off my broom.
"Lily, you scared me" I said clutching my heart with one hand as I kept my other firmly on the broom.
"Sorry" She said, sounding not sorry at all. It was at that moment that I spotted the small golden snitch hovering just centimeters off the ground.
'This is going to be a quick game' I thought as I flew at the highest speed I could go towards the ground. Lily had long disappeared as I quickly advanced on the snitch. I grabbed it with one hand yanking my broom up so that I didn't hit the grass. I just managed to pull out of the dive as I grazed my feet along the grass. It brought back my memory of the first time I had helped teach the little first years the fly. The shocked faces filled me with determination to keep attempting amazing things on my broom.
"Oh my goodness Ali, you gave me the fright of my life" Lily said as she came and landing beside me.
"Consider it as me getting back at you for scaring me earlier" I said grinning at her. "I still won though", I raised my arm high above my head and bowed as though taking in the applause that wasn't there.
"That game was too short" James complained as everyone else joined us on the grass.
"We could play another one if you wanted, I also agree that the game was too short" Verity said.
"Game on" Sirius said flying back up as I realised the snitch and watched as it fluttered for a moment before whizzing off.
"Game on" I replied.
