I was seated between Sirius and Alice one morning at breakfast when an owl came and landed before me dropping a letter and flying off.
"Who's the letter from?" Verity asked from in front of me.
"I dunno Ver, I haven't opened it yet" I said rolling my eyes and smirking at her as I picked up the letter that sat before me.
"Hurry up and open it Snowy, i'm not that patient" James said. I purposefully began to open it as slowly as I could. I heard a growl come from James before a large pain in my shin.
"James" I screeched dropping the letter as I rubbed my now sore leg.
"I told you to hurry up" he said shrugging as he took a bite of his toast. I, in return growled at him before picking the letter back up in my right hand whilst still rubbing my leg with my left hand. I tore open the letter, keen to not get kicked again and began to read over it. My eyes widened as I took in the contents of the letter. A strangled cry escaped my mouth as I read over the letter again.
"What, what's happening" Sirius said reading the letter over my shoulder.
"What does it say?" James said leaning over the table in the hopes of reading the letter.
"Yeah Ali, what does it say? Tell me" Marlene demanded leaning over Alice to look at the letter as well.
"I've been accepted into the dragon sanctuary already" I said excitedly dropping the letter and clapping my hands in excitement.
"What, they didn't even need your NEWT scores?!" Lily said looking at me.
"I didn't even send a letter?" I said looking at my friends in confusion. This couldn't be right if I didn't even send a letter. I looked up at Dad who was sitting with a smile on his face as he talked to McGonagall before my eyes drifted to Hagrid who sent a wink my way before engaging in a conversation with Professor Flitwick.
"Well, who did?" Marlene said scrunching her face up in confusion. I jumped from the table picking the letter up as I made my way to the teachers table.
"Did you send the letter Hagrid?!" I said staring at him as he just smiled at me.
"I take it the letter did well then, I didn't send the letter though, I just helped give some good word in it" He said smiling.
"It did, they actually accepted me, thank you so much" I squealed before running round the table and giving him a hug before moving to my Dad.
"Thank you" I said hugging him tightly.
"No need to thank me, you would have gotten it anyway even without my help" He said.
"Yeah, but I got it before I was even finished at school with your help so thank you" I said hugging him again before running back down to my friends.
"So does this mean you can start as soon as you're finished at school?" James questioned.
"Well, technically she could start whenever now" Lily butted in. I nodded at her statement.
"Although, I don't think any of the teachers would be impressed if I never finished my schooling" I responded quickly glancing at the teachers table.
"True that" Sirius said leaning on the table using his elbows to hold him up.
"Well, just because you've been accepted doesn't mean you are allowed to slack of in your exams" Lily lectured. I let out a mock groan.
"Oh, whatever am I to do" I said pretending to faint into Alice. Everyone around me rolled their eyes so I just poked my tounge out at them.
"So immature" James tutted, patting my head.
"Hey, I am not immature, you should try talking to yourself for a day" I growled.
"He has improved" Lily said intervening. I sighed throwing my head back angrily.
"Not you to Lil's, since when did you start defending him" I groaned covering my face with my hands. "The world must be ending"
"Quit being dramatic Ali, we get it, you're just upset that your friends are on my side for once" James smirked.
"Who said I was on your side" Marlene scoffed.
"Thank you Marl's" I said smirking back at James.
"Hey Pete, you wanna go before they drag us into this" I heard Remus whisper from across the table.
"Not so fast mister" I said grabbing his arm whilst maintaining eye contact with James.
"Peter, run she's going crazy" Remus screeched loudly. Peter stood abruptly running from the scene, followed quickly by Sirius, Alice and Verity.
"Yeah, well when I go crazy you're coming down with me Remus" I said swapping my eye contact to him.
"Oh no, that would be a disaster" James said pretending to be shocked before he jumped up and ran from the hall.
"NOT SO FAST" I screamed at his back, also jumping up and leaving quickly.
"Wanna follow them?" Lily asked Remus as he rubbed his wrist subconsciously.
"Not really?" He said, the sentence sounding more like a question then a response.
"Good, me either, lets go find the other four" Lily said walking from the hall followed by a tired Remus.

Little bit shorter this time but I wanted to do a couple fillers before they leave school. Once again I am stricken with the weeks of school assessments and plenty of homework so chapters might be smaller and come out quite far apart (Not much of a change to be fair lol).
