I sat quietly beside Remus in the common room as we finished our homework together. After the geese prank worked so well and we all hadn't been caught it had been so quiet making it feel eerie and unnatural. With the ever rising threat of Voldemort becoming bigger and bigger more and more people had been taken from the school, which in my opinion was ridiculous. Hogwarts was extremely safe, safer than most homes.
"You okay Ali, you've been quiet for a while" Remus asked looking up from his essay with a concerned face.
"Yeah, I was just thinking about how many people are being taken from the school just because Voldemort is becoming bigger" I said making Remus shudder slightly.
"They must be desperate to spend time with each other to be taking their children from the safest school" Remus sighed sitting back and placing his hands over his head.
"Well, just think, when we leave school, we're on our own" I said looking out of the window. I hoped nothing bad would happen to my friends and that Snowflake would protect us all like she was protecting the school at the present time.
"Well, we won't be fully on our own, we'll be with all our friends, we'll all be like a big pact" Remus said. I tried to think on the happy side like him but found I couldn't. Our friends could all die around us, we could die. That's what was good about Remus, he was good at being optimistic in most situations.
"Yeah" I sighed watching the window splatter with rain. Despite the usual warm wind and sunny days we had been getting the odd miserable, stormy day, reminding everyone else of what was happening in the wizarding world. It was a change to go to breakfast each day, just waiting to see which person burst into tears finding their family members dead.
"It's not best to dwell on the bad, just take it when it comes" Remus said as we both watched the rain with sullen faces.

Lily had been sent a return letter by her parents after she had told them everything that was happening and that no matter what happened she loved them.
They responded with a long letter telling her that they loved her as well and asked several more questions regarding what was going on. But,
the letter Lily had sent for Petunia never came back with a reply bringing her spirits down.
"You know what, people are to down, today is the best weather we've had for a week and despite that they all choose to stay inside" Sirius said one morning as we all sat in a circle in the boys dorms playing exploding snap.
"And how do you plan on getting everyone outside" I asked raising my eyebrows questionably. He smirked standing up and motioning for us all to do the same. I followed with narrowed eyes, confused about where this was going until Sirius flung at me and chucked me over his shoulder.
"SIRIUS ORION BLACK" I screamed. "Help me" I yelled looking directly at Remus.
"No can do Miss Dumbledore, i'm afraid Sirius wins this fight" He said smirking, "I'll help you out of the black lake though"
"How is this even going to get anyone outside" I questioned as Sirius ran from the dorm and into the common room. I pounded my closed fists on his back doing little.
"ANYONE WHO WISHES FOR MISS DUMBLEDORE HERE TO BE THROWN INTO THE BLACK LAKE FOLLOW US AND GET ALL YOUR FRIENDS" Sirius yelled as I thrashed around.
"I do not consent to this" I growled as Sirius ignored me and continued running until he halted, stopping the group of people trailing behind us to.
"Dad, you surely would not allow this to happen" I said spotting Dad in front of the group.
"Let what happen" He said with a small mischievous smile walking from the hallway and past the group of people.
"Let us all thank merlin for the greatest headmaster, now, go get your friends, I won't drop her in the lake for twenty minutes, see you all soon" Sirius said walking at a slow pace towards the lake.
"It's freezing Sirius, I assume you've never been dropped in it" I exclaimed attempting to free myself but failing miserably.
"OH SIRIUS, YOU ARE SO STRONG, PICK UP ALICE, HOLD HER HIGH, AND, UMMMM... THROW HER IN THE BLACK LAKE" James yelled from his position on a large rock by the lake.
"James buddy, I appreciate the song but your rhyming sucks" Sirius said perching himself on the edge of the lake. A large crowd of people made their way down from the school and gathered around Sirius and I to see what the fuss was about.
"I told you people would come out Snowy" Sirius sang as Remus pushed through the crowd.
"You forgot the camera Padfoot, nearly prevented an amazing photo opportunity" he said waving my camera around with a large smile on his face.
"Why Moony, I had faith in you stopping this but your encouraging it" I asked with wide eyes.
"Well, it's not everyday your girlfriend gets dropped in a lake by their best friend is it" Remus said smirking before jumping onto the rock beside James and getting the camera ready.
"It's going to ruin my socks" I whined.
"Peter, come and take off Alice's socks if she cares about them that much" Sirius ordered. Peter followed before Snowflake flew in.
"Finally, some help, Snowflake can you help me in the least violent way possible please" I asked as I saw her fly over our heads. She gave what looked like a smile before flying down and laying beside Remus.
"Just when I thought someone had actually come to save me" I said rolling my eyes as my other three best friends walked through the crowd and laughed at the sight.
"Well, you know, you could help me instead of laughing" I said to Alice, Marlene and Lily.
"I think we'll leave this one up to Black, how's that sound girls" Lily said poking her tongue out at me.
"All of my friends are rude" I said before I was interrupted by Sirius' loud voice.
"Is Everyone here" He asked waiting for a response but getting nothing. "Good then, TEN, NINE, EIGHT, SEVEN" Sirius began counting down as everyone else joined him. At one he lifted me over his head and threw me into the water.
My body chilled as I submerged into the water. I swam towards the boat dock resurfacing under it. Sirius' feet were at the very edge standing after a gap allowing me to stick my hand threw it and push him off and into the water. When he had resurfaced he glared at me.
"Your dead Dumbledore" He yelled as I ran for the shore, whistling for the squid. he came and lifted me onto the shore before I sprinted through the crowd.
"ACCIO ALICE DUMBLEDORE" Sirius yelled like I did the first time he threw me into the black lake. My feet lifted from the ground and I was thrown backwards pushing Sirius over in the process.
"Ouch" I muttered making James run over. I smirked pulling him to the ground as Lily snatched the camera from Remus allowing me to Accio him over. I somehow got pushed to the bottom of the group.
"You guys are squashing me" I exclaimed, my voice muffled from under the group of boys. They all rolled off allowing me to stand up freely.
"Now, if you want to see me throw Alice in again..." Sirius said as people began chanting 'Again, again, again'. I sprinted for it before Remus grabbed me and picked me up like I was a feather.
"I think i'll do this one Sirius" He smirked.
