Meanwhile, Arthur found himself sat at a banquet, many people eating a large selection of luxurious foods set before them, laughing and chattering away, as he sat the chair to the nearest side of Princess Ran, before the duke. It had been a good hour since this banquet had started, yet Arthur had found himself full within the first twenty minutes , unlike the people around him, who were still shoving food into their mouths, he was not suited to eat this much food at once, after only really eating small and standard portions of food for most his life... Beside... His eyes were now on the windows near to the ceiling above large stained glass in the huge dining hall, the light of the setting sun, marking the day's upcoming demise, and a birth of darkened night. The thought of the contractors coming to take his life upon the witching hour, was enough to make him loose his appetite. He played with his food a little, as Princess Ran laughed whilst talking to guests... And upon Arthur's lack of enthusiasm, she turned to him with a slightly confused expression.
"Sir Arthur, is the food not to your taste...?" she inquired as Arthur sort of snapped out of his daze a little, looking from princess Ran, to his food, before giving a stiff laugh.
"Wh-What? No- I just..." his smile faded a little, a wary look overcoming his face as he then stood up. "Your majesty, I should be going now..." Arthur mentioned turning away to walk off, much to Princess Ran's surprise as she all got up to follow him.
"Your highness, what is wrong?" one of her courtier's questioned as Princess Ran looked back to her palely.
"I-I need to go back to my room now, I feel ill..." Princess Ran mentioned as the courtier then gave her quite a concerned look.
"I-Ill... Has the food been poisoned? Do I need to call the palace doctor to look at you?"
"N-No- I-"
The courtier took her arm, going to lead her away as Princess Ran gave a rather annoyed look, her eyes narrowing fiercely."Y-Your majesty!" General Rudcliff mentioned, as Princess Ran hurried out the room; going to rush off further before she then paused to the general.
"General, remember what I told you earlier... Put that plan in action now" Princess Ran demanded as General Rudcliff straightened himself out and saluted to her.
"Right away!" he answered before turning away and marching off. Princess Ran watched him walk off with a cautious expression, before looking in the other direction down the hallway.
"Arthur..." she muttered, before running further down."Sir Arthur, please wait, where are you going?" Princess Ran inquired, catching up with Arthur as he walked down the castle steps. Arthur paused mid step, partially surprised to see that Princess Ran had come out this far from the palace to chase him.
"Y-Your majesty... You shouldn't have followed me here, your guests will be worried..." Arthur mentioned as Princess Ran held her hands up to her chest with a nervous expression...
"I... I can't escape the feeling that you are going to be going somewhere..." Princess Ran then mentioned, looking down sadly. "Somewhere I can't follow..." Princess Ran then went on as Arthur at first didn't know what to say... Right now, he was just trying to find a place where the contractors could kill him off quietly, so as not to bring in anybody nearby... He glanced back to the shadows, where the appearance of the contractor's was becoming ever more apparent. He certainly didn't want to bring Princess Ran into the equation... He looked back to her with a faint smile.
"I'm not particularly going anywhere your highness... Just back to my quarter's so I can make an early start tomorrow..." Arthur lied, trying to calm the princess's nerves, going to turn away from her when-
"You're lying..." Princess Ran spoke up firmly, making Arthur flinch, when before he could even look back to her, Princess Ran ran over to him, flinging her arms over him from behind much to his shock.
"Please stay... I want to be in your presence longer..." Princess Ran muttered, leaving Arthur a bit in a daze.
"Y-Your majesty... I-" Arthur began stammering an excuse when Princess Ran spoke over him.
"I want you to accompany me tonight..." Princess Ran then stated, the two of them falling quiet... and for a moment, it took Arthur a small while to understand just what she quite meant... Before his face lit up a bright red at the mere thought of the idea. He had to have been misinterpreting what she meant right?
