I dressed in jeans and a long sleeved shirt that I tucked into the hems as my hair was in a low ponytail and I didn't bother to apply any makeup. I tugged on my leather flat boots before jogging down the stairs to see the three waiting for me.
"Why do women take so long to get ready?" Pierce complained. I flicked him the bird and rolled my eyes.
"Ten fucking minutes, Pierce. I could have been selfish and took an hour!" I argued. They laughed before Donovan wrapped an arm around my waist. We got into the large black jeep with tinted windows as the three sat in the back while I drove.
"Danica was his daughter, the one to give her anything that she wanted because she's his blood. If we find her, we can find some of the files from his contracts with fucking idiots who wanted a job done. Marco would have done anything for more money," Vincent explained to them.
"I'm going to find Charlotte. She recently got a job at Saints Angels Hospital," I said to them before I snorted.
"What's up with Saint being everywhere?" I retorted.
"We're no angels," Vincent informed me. Oh that I knew but I still didn't agree on that. They were the sweetest family I knew. I turned on the radio and smiled when Doubt by twenty-one pilots came on.
"Oh please don't start singing this again," Donovan whined as he rubbed his eyes. I laughed as I started singing.
"Don't forget about-bout-bout-bout-bout me. Don't forget about-bout-bout-bout-bout me. Even when I doubt you, I'm no good without you. No no!"
We drove into the city as the sun was peering down at us brightly today. I stopped at a parking lot outside of Saint Angel's Hospital and handed the three sunglasses. They all put it on and I admired the sight of the three handsome brothers.
"You guys take the car and go find Danica. She should be attending her spa day or whatever around the corner," I told them. I kissed Donovan as he placed his hand on my face and as we pulled apart, I smiled at him as he smiled back.
"I love you," he said.
"I love you too. Be careful you guys," I said to them before getting out of the car. Then I watched as they drove away.
At the front desk, I asked this woman where Charlotte Drew was at and right then and there, I turned to see her standing behind me. Charlotte always had this presence that lit up a room with her big bright smile and hazel green eyes. She had a light olive skin from the sun which was new because she used to be so pale with curly ashy blonde hair which was now straightened and fell down her white coat. When she saw me, a smile spread across her face.
"Emmy!" I ran to her and squealed as we hugged.
"Charlie!" I yelled. I smiled at our old nicknames for each other. We were the only ones to call each other Emmy and Charlie.
"It's been like what, a year? How have you been doing?" She asked me. I held her arms length away and my smile slowly started to fade away. Her eyes widened when she noticed and she excused herself from the front desk as she took me to her office. While locking her door, she closed the blinds and checked again.
"What happened?" She asked me.
"I can't explain it all right now but I need you to come with me. I'm sort of in trouble and I need your help," I told her. She frowned slightly.
